In Recanati (MC), up to December 31st, 2013, Leopardi Palace will host the Exhibition
“Giacomo dei libri– La Biblioteca Leopardi come spazio delle idee” (Giacomo of
books - The Library as a room for ideas), which opened on June 30th, 2012 on the occasion
of the bicentenary of the opening of the poet's library. The exhibition, organized into six
thematic areas, aims at telling - through documents and texts - the books loved by
Giacomo Leopardi, philosophical and poetic expression of his work. There are also
manuscripts of the poet, as well as furniture and objects from the family collection.

Many gift ideas, chestnuts and mulled wine, hot chocolate, soft music, creativity workshops for
children, highly selected exhibitors.
Apecchio, a town with an ancient history, preserves various artifacts and Renaissance relics left
by the Ubaldini counts, including the beautiful Ubaldini palace. Not to miss in Colombara, at the
foot of Monte Nerone, the Mappamondo della Pace (Globe of Peace), the largest ever built,
entered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Twelfth edition of "In the Castle of Santa Claus"
Christmas Market in the Castle of Frontone (eleventh century), in the hinterland of the province
of Pesaro-Urbino.
In the past, the Castle of Frontone was a border fortification to monitor the territory crossed by
the Romans to reach the Adriatic and the last stronghold of the Duchy of Montefeltro between
'400 and '500.

Christmas Castle
Many initiatives, ranging from traditional crafts to gifts in the shops of the old town centre. For
the occasion, "Santa's House" with his fire-eater elves will be opened. Gradara and its fortified
village is one of the best preserved medieval structures in Italy. The Castle, scenery of the
unfortunate love between Paolo and Francesca, made immortal by the verses of Canto V of
Dante's Inferno, is full of Renaissance frescoes. You can visit the walkways, the Historical
Museum, the Caves of Gradara, the Church of St. John and the Garden of Olives in via Cappuccini.

The Wonderland
A mix of fairy tales, spectacular performances and animated characters to the delight of grownups and kids alike. A shower of chocolate will take you through the streets of the village up to
the Castle, to discover an amazing new sculpture.

The spa town of Macerata Feltria is located in the heart of Montefeltro and offers an interesting
cultural path: the Archaeological and Paleontological Museum, the Museum of Industrial

Christmas Cioccovisciola
It is a party that combines Chocolate and Confectionery at Christmas Markets, to Traditions,
Artists, to Gift Ideas and Typical Products in the streets of downtown.
Pergola is famous for its truffles and the famous Gilded Bronzes from Cartoceto (Julio-Claudian
period, dating back from between 50 and 30 B.C.), and is also known as the city of a hundred
churches, rich in valuable works of art.

Candelara (PU)

X edition "Candele a Candelara” (Candles in Candelara)
Christmas market devoted to candles in the ancient medieval village of Candelara, located in
the hills around Pesaro.
Among the many initiatives: the Nativity Road and Santa's Workshop, wine tasting, sale of
gastronomic delights of the area and concerts, such as the famous concert with the Winds
Orchestra of the Musical Band of Candelara at Rossini Theatre.
An opportunity to go to the discovery of Urbino, San Leo, Gradara and the small towns in the
province (Frontone, Mombaroccio, Macerata Feltria) which host other events related to
Christmas.

Christmas market in Piazza Pertini: crafts, leather goods, jewelry, food, Christmas gifts and

Live Nativity Scene and Christmas market
Even in the municipality of Genga Christmas is keenly felt. Genga live nativity scene is the
largest in the world: it covers an area of about 30,000 square meters within the Frasassi Gorge.
Worth to be visited are the beautiful and enchanting Frasassi Caves, which are located in the
municipality of Genga, inside the Natural Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi.
In the small town of San Vittore you can visit the Romanesque abbey of the same name, the
temple of Valadier, the Infrasaxa Sanctuary and the Speleological Museum.

Christmas Market
In Sassoferrato on December 8th - together with the Christmas market - the traditional 30 m.
high fir tree is light up. Sassoferrato has a rich and prestigious patrimony in the field of
historical and artistic heritage: worth to be mentioned are the five museums (archaeological,
civic, of arts and popular traditions, of the sulfur mine of Cabernardi, civic art collection and
the collection of "engravers" from the Marche Region). The town's landmark is undoubtedly the
Albornoz Fortress, a massive military construction built in 1365. Of particular interest is the
Archaeological Park Sentinum, considered as one of the most important archaeological sites in
The Marche, which retains the impressive remains from the ancient Roman city of the same
name.

Christmas Trade Show and Market
Merely Christmas Edition that has been taking place for many years in the old town of Macerata.
A stage not to be missed is a visit to the Nativity Scene Typological Museum, which includes
Italian and foreign cribs, besides 4,000 pieces including stickers, animals and accessories.
In Macerata old town centre Ricci Petrocchini Palace and Buonaccorsi Palace, late Baroque
architectural example (now home to the city's museums, such as the Carriage Museum) deserve
to be mentioned.
Near Villa Potenza, lies the archaeological area of Helvia Ricina.

Christmas Market
The Christmas Market will take place in Piazza del Popolo.
San Severino Marche consists of two parts: the former is centered around the Romanesque
Cathedral and the latter includes the wide Piazza del Popolo. Testimonies of the important
school of painting are frescoes by Lorenzo and Jacopo Salimbeni, still visible in some churches
and in the rich Pinacoteca Comunale (Municipal Art Gallery).
In Pieve extends the area of Septempeda, which has become the Regional Archaeological Park.

Live Nativity Scene
Not to miss the famous live nativity scene with 350 actors in costume.
In Morrovalle you can admire the International Museum of Nativity which is home to almost
500 nativity scenes, of all shapes and sizes, made with different techniques and different
materials.
In the old town centre you can visit the town hall, the Lazzaroni Palace, the Civic Museum, the
Roberti Palace (dating back to the 15th century) and Nada Vicoli Palace. Among the sacred
buildings, the Shrine of Our Lady of Holy Water (1612), the Franciscan monastery and the
convent of the Capuchin friars are worth to be mentioned.

24th edition of the Live Nativity Scene – Wood of Minor Friars
The crib aims at tracing a path of faith, also presenting little-known episodes.
Potenza Picena, a few steps from the sea, has a medieval layout with narrow alleys and stairs
leading to the main square, Piazza Matteotti.
Do not miss a visit to Villa Bonaccorsi, a splendid example of Italian garden of the eighteenth
century.

The Christmas market is held in Square Arringo.

within the project Adristorical Lands is now available. It is a collection of four games to discover
curiosity and tourist attractions in the Marche Region. Play with the Quiz, Memory, the Puzzle
and the game of 15 to discover the places hidden by the games and add them to your personal
travel diary.
