SWITCHING OVER TO THE SUMMER AND FALL HOURS
The Visitor Center has switched over to its Summer and Fall Hours. The Visitor Center
will be open until October 31, 2014. Summer and Fall hours are as follows: MondaySaturday 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a,m. - 5:00 p.m.

FEATURED AMBASSADORS OF THE WEEK
DAVID HERTEL, THE BLACKBERRY INN BED & BREAKFAST
David Hertel comes to Watkins Glen from New Jersey. David and
his spouse Brian Eslinger are the owners of The Blackberry Inn
Bed & Breakfast on 6th Street in Watkins Glen. David has an
extensive background in trade show exhibits design and event
management, but his true passion is art. David has an Associates
Degree in Art from Keystone College in PA and recently went back
to school. In December of 2011, he graduated with a "Bachelor of
Fine Arts" from William Patterson University of New Jersey. David
specializes in landscapes and has been inspired by the beautiful
countryside here in the Finger Lakes, especially the scenic
vineyards overlooking Seneca Lake. David's work will be exhibited at Hector Wine
Company, 5610 State Route 414 in Hector. David is also the Vice Chairperson of the

Brian Eslinger comes to Watkins Glen from New Jersey with
over 29 years of sales, marketing and management
experience. Brian and his spouse David Hertel are the co
owners of the Blackberry Inn Bed & Breakfast on 6th street and
Brian is the Proprietor of E&H Specialties. E&H Specialties
offers marketing and management solutions to small businesses
in the tourism and hospitality industry meeting their needs in a
competitive market place. Brian is no stranger to the tourism
and hospitality industry and has lived all over the country as a
Sales Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing for Hilton,
Adams Mark and Marriott Hotels. Brian has an extensive
knowledge of marketing 1st, 2nd and 3rd tear cities including
regional destinations. Brian is the Chairperson of the Schuyler
County Lodging and Tourism Association representing over 42
lodging establishments and 77% of room nights in Schuyler County.

THE ARTS COUNCIL OF THE SOUTHERN FINGER LAKES
ARTS COUNCIL LEADERSHIP TO CHANGE
The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council) announced today
that Executive Director Ginnie Lupi has submitted her resignation, effective July 11. Lupi
was recently nominated by New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan and confirmed by
the Executive Council to become Director of the New Hampshire State Council on the
Arts. She has led The ARTS Council since March 2006 and will assume her new role in

CORNING MUSEUM OF GLASS
PARTICIPATING IN BLUE STAR MUSEUMS
Corning, NY- Today The Corning Museum of Glass announced the launch of Blue Star
Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star
Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to
offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from
Memorial Day through Labor Day 2014. Leadership support has been provided by
MetLife Foundation through Blue Star Families. The program provides families an
opportunity to enjoy the nation's cultural heritage and learn more about their new

FIBER ARTS IN THE GLEN
HOSTS AUTUMN MIST ALPACA FARM
On Sunday June 1, FiberArts in the Glen will host a trunk show featuring Autumn Mist
Alpaca Farm and Fiber Mill. Patrons will have the opportunity to browse of Autumn
Mist fiber in stock and enjoy one day special savings. Autumn Mist owners, Jeff and
Leslie Jorristma , will also offer additional selections of their fine, local alpaca roving,
yarn and fiber directly from the farm for sale. FiberArts in the Glen will feature weaving,

FINGER LAKES DISTILLING
TO OFFER 3 OPPORTUNITIES FOR SPIRITS EDUCATION
Finger Lakes Distilling is pleased to offer several new opportunities for their customers
to learn more about how distilled spirits are produced. Every Saturday morning at 11
am, the distillery is hosting in-depth tours of the facility. The tours last approximately
one hour and consist of a brief introductory video, a walking tour of the distillery, a

HUMANE SOCIETY OF SCHUYLER COUNTY
HOSTS CONSTRUCTION OPEN HOUSE
On Saturday June 7 from 10am- noon The Humane Society of Schuyler County will host
the third and final Construction Open House at 124 Marina Drive in Montour Falls. The
renovation of the main building is nearing completion under the direction of Hunt
Engineers, with construction services provided by Architectural Concrete Plus of Dundee
and Williams Construction of Elmira. The remaining work will be completed by Humane
Society volunteers over the next several months. A grand opening will be held in the

HOSTS TALK: SPAY/NEUTER ON INDIAN RESERVATIONS
The Humane Society of Schuyler County will host Dr. Elizabeth Berliner, Janet L.
Swanson Director of Shelter Medicine at Cornell University, on Thursday June 5 at 6:30
at St. Paul's Parish House in Montour Falls. Dr. Berliner will provide a presentation
entitled "Rural Area Veterinary Services (RAVS): Taking Teaching and Service on the

WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Judy McKinney-Cherry is the new Executive Director for SCOPED, the Schuyler County
Partnership for Economic Development. Ms. McKinney Cherry has experience working in
the private sector, public sector and university settings with over 25 years of business
and management experience. Most recently, Judy provided consulting services to small
businesses, county government and engineering firms. Prior to establishing her
consulting business, McKinney-Cherry spent six years as the longest serving Cabinet
Secretary of the Delaware Economic Development Office and was the first female to be
confirmed in that position by the Delaware Senate. Before joining the Development
Office in 2002, McKinney-Cherry worked for 9 years in leadership positions for a
national information technology services firm. In these roles, McKinney-Cherry was

LEGENDS OF THE GLEN NOMINATIONS
WATKINS GLEN, NY (May 19, 2014) - With over 65 years of legendary racing, Watkins
Glen International is now accepting nominations from fans for the 2014 Legends of the
Glen. Last year, Geoff Bodine and Otto Linton were inducted into the Legends of the
Glen, joining 18 other distinguished individuals. Fans will need to act quickly as
