The academic wing of the school is housed in a small 1960’s building. The residential facility is located in a large red brick 1950’s building and a local landmark building, which is the highest building in town. THE STUDENTS In 2015 there were 120 students enrolled at Putnam Science Academy. The majority of students were of Turkish lineage representing communities within the United States and internationally. OUR GRADUATES Putnam Science Academy placed 100% of its Class of 2015 in college and universities in the United States and internationally. Putnam Science Academy offers a College Prep School to students who satisfactorily meet graduation requirements. Post graduate students who complete program requirements are issued a completion certificate. Credits, reflecting previous accomplishments, will be evaluated for individual students in selecting a course schedule that meets Putnam Science Academy total and distribution graduation requirements. GRADING SYSTEM SCHOOL HERITAGE The first school founded on our site was in 1928, by the sisters of Notre Dame. Over the course of time it morphed into a Catholic High School in the 1950’s and then in 2002 it was taken over and converted into an international boys boarding school, for the purpose of improving intercultural dialogue and the opportunity of accessing the best universities within America and worldwide. Students came from a variety of countries worldwide and from a large number of states within America. The majority of students were of Turkish heritage or from Turkey Letter grades are provided with conversion to a 4.0 scale to compute a GPA at the end of each academic year. A number of renovation projects are ongoing, along with the business of providing high quality prep school education for a small group of students. Along with the renovation of residential, classroom and sporting facilities the school will be expanding its cohort of students from a wider group. While the school has changed ownership, its mission and values remain the constant theme of the school. FACULTY AND STAFF The strength of the Putnam Science Academy faculty and staff is the lifeblood of the school. The Academy maintains the philosophy of an 8-1 student-faculty ratio providing a comfortable level of communication and interaction between students and faculty. The majority of faculty hold advanced degrees.
