2. Educational goals and aims
1.
Acquisition of knowledge of the morphology and physiology of the stomathognatic system in terms
of prosthetic rehabilitation, including standard occlusal model and occlussion depending on the
stage of ontogenetic development.

2. Acquisition of knowledge regarding planning and preparation for prosthetic treatment.
3. The acquisition of knowledge concerning the type of dental restorations, indications and
contraindications to their use and clinical and laboratory procedures in dentures prosthodontics.

restorations, materials used for their fabrication, indications and contraindications. Patient dental

W2- Lecture 2- Inlays and posts. Inlay - indications and contraindications, materials used for fabrication.
General clinical and laboratory steps (teeth preparation for inlays, direct and indirect methods). Posts Indications and contraindications, clinical and laboratory steps (teeth preparation, wax pattern fabricationdirect and impression- indirect methods). Materials used for posts fabrication.
W3- Lecture 3- Porcelain fused to metal crowns- basic information. Types of crowns. Materials used for
crowns fabrication. Partial crowns - indications and contraindications. Full contour crowns. Cast metal
crown: indications and contraindications, types of materials. Combined crowns (crown types – metal
acrylic, metal composite and porcelain fused to metal crowns). Properties of materials used for veneering. :
Indications and contraindications. Clinical procedure, abutment teeth preparation.
W4- Lecture 4- Dental bridges - indications and contraindications. Design, clinical and laboratory steps.
Resin retained bridges.
W5- Lecture 5- All ceramic prosthetic restorations. All ceramic crown. Abutments teeth preparation.
General clinical and laboratory steps. Ceramic veneers.
W6- Lecture 6- CAD/ CAM in fabrication of dental fixed restorations.
W6- Lecture 6- Implant retained fixed prosthesis. Periodontal issues in fixed prosthodontics treatment.
Fixed prosthodontics treatment planning. Clinical cases.
