FutureBIOGRAPHICAL
of Counseling
INFO and Being
Change Agents
Dr. Evans is the current president of the American
Counseling Association and Associate Dean at the
University of Texas in San Antonio.
She is a licensed professional counselor and supervisor
and is nationally certified as a distance credentialed
counselor. Dr. Evans has authored numerous articles and
book chapters, focusing on issues of diversity,
multiculturalism, women’s concerns, and leadership. She
has worked in private practice and as a consultant.
Dr. Evans has also worked with many organizations, such
as, the United Way, Communities in School, AVANCE,
Baptist Children Homes Ministries, Intercultural
Development Research Association (IDRA), Mexican
American Legal Defense and Education Fund
(MALDEF).
Dr. Evans has worked in many capacities and leadership
roles throughout her professional career. She is the past
president of the Association for Creativity in Counseling
(ACC), past chair and secretary/treasurer of the American
Counseling Association-Southern Region, past chair of
the Emerging Leader Training, Southern Region, past
president of the Alabama Counseling association, and
many, many more.
