DRC assisted 1,169 unserved consumers.
2,646 individuals received Information and Referral assistance.
DRC staff attended 207 outreaches providing information to 7,629 individuals.
DRC conducted 182 workshops reaching 2,310 individuals.

DRC’s Employee Handbook is being updated.
Gerrie Schipske visited DRC during the Summer Youth
Leadership Week.
SCRS provided Disaster Preparedness Booklets in Braille for DRC consumers.
In-Home Support Services Mental Health Training for consumers and PA’s took place at DRC. Scan Healthcare donated snacks and drinks.
DRC staff and volunteers participated with Molina
Healthcare for “Disability Mentoring Day”.
DRC was selected as 2013 “EAF Champion Award”. This award recognizes an agency that has shown exceptional commitment and contribution to the Southern
California’s Energy Assistance Fund.
United Way conducted its meeting at DRC with 20 people in attendance.

DRC Achieved its Goals and More in 2013!
With 20 new grants, DRC increased its grants in 2013 from the year before by 7 grants.
With 5 new programs, it was an increase of 2 from the year before.
In 2013, 38 volunteers served 5,664.25 hours, compared to 2012 with 28 volunteers and 4,841.3 hours, an increase of 10 volunteers and 822.95 more volunteer hours this year.
1,169 unserved consumers were served in 2013, compared to 1,122 unserved consumers in 2012, an increase of 47 more unserved consumers served.
In 2013, 182 workshops reached 2,310 people, compared to 2012, with 168 workshops reaching 2,164 people, an increase of 14 workshops and 146 more people served.
Additionally, all DRC staff and some volunteers are now
State Certified Covered California Counselors, ready to assist and enroll people in healthcare programs.
All staff received their American Red Cross CPR and First
Aid Certifications, and are ready to be First Responders, should a disaster strike.
The Center was the first in Long Beach to have a Looping
System so that people with hearing impairments can now hear like everyone else.
