Look out for letters along the way & make a note of them.

Start at the CHURCH

St John’s church was built in 1893. It is thought that the first church on this site dates back to 1408.
How many large stones can you see on the verge outside of the Church?

These stones were deposited around High Legh during the Ice age by a glacier and later placed outside the church.
Walk down THE AVENUE towards the Vicarage
How many eggs are hanging from the tree in the Vicarage garden?

At The Vicarage turn right onto WEST LANE
What is the restoration date on the stocks?

The stocks are a form of punishment. The culprit was fastened into them by their legs and villagers threw rotten eggs
and vegetables at them. Naughty parents beware!
Turn right into WRENSHOT LANE
What kind of bird is on the sign for the school?

Go through the wood and keep a look out along the way....

Walk up the hill.
Cross over the road and head towards the play area

Turn around and head back to Pheasant Walk, turn left, up to the top of the hill. Continue along to the big tree.

This chapel dates back to 1581 and was used as a chapel of ease to High Legh East Hall.
Cross over and turn left and head towards West Lane

on The Avenue.
