Re: Silent Auction donation to help WTS mentor students and award college scholarships
Dear Sparian’s,
I am writing to ask if you would consider making a silent auction donation for
my non-profit organization’s annual scholarship fundraising gala on May 20,
2014. Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) is an international organization
with the mission to promote the professional advancement of women in the
transportation industry. Our local NC Triangle Chapter serves the Central
North Carolina area.
WTS's annual gala raises funds for college scholarships and outreach programs
for middle and high school students. The aim of these scholarships and
programs is to promote young women to enter into science, technology,
engineering and math (STEM) secondary education and careers.
Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) is an international organization with
the mission to promote the professional advancement of women in the
transportation industry. Our local chapter – the NC Triangle Chapter – serves
the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
In addition, our annual gala is an opportunity to celebrate our local award
winners for innovative transportation design and construction projects, and
community activism. Previous speakers have included former North Carolina
Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton, former North Carolina Secretary of
Transportation Eugene Conti, a special address by US Senator for North
Carolina Kay Hagen, and Astronaut Story Musgrave. This year we are pleased
to announce that WRAL Meteorologist, Elizabeth Gardner, will emcee the
event.
Funds raised from your donation will:
Contribute to college scholarships for
women pursuing careers in science,
technology, engineering, and math.
Support outreach events for middle and
high school students.
Attendees at our annual gala are local and regional transportation industry
professionals in engineering, science, construction, and management positions.
Your support of a silent auction gift will help us mentor more young
women, and help them on their way to a successful college degree
and career.
