Purpose of Scholarship opportunities
To allow players in the club to participate regardless of their financial situation.
Procedure for obtaining scholarship
Those interested in obtaining a financial scholarship must apply by completing the FCKC
Financial Aid Request form, to be accompanied by a copy of last year's filed federal income tax
statement. Summary page with adjusted gross income listed is sufficient.
The Scholarship Committee meets 3 times throughout the year to evaluate scholarship needs.
Deadlines for submitting forms are as follows: June 28, November 28, and January 5.
Those obtaining financial scholarships have additional obligations to fulfill to the club during
each season played on scholarship. Some of the additional obligations could include working at
club sponsored tournaments, assisting with club sponsored activities such as camps, helping
with FC Kansas City professional events, and / or helping with office tasks for the youth club.
Failure to complete the scholarship obligation will result in withholding of any further
scholarships to recipient and the player’s card of the recipients will be pulled until
commitments are fulfilled.
Scholarship amount
Each application will be reviewed by the scholarship committee, and aid will be distributed
based on need when comparing all applicants in the Club.
Scholarships will awarded to cover all or a portion of club fees and / or team fees. Individual
coaches can choose to scholarship all or a portion of their coaching fees as well. Coaches will
work with their team administrators to determine if the coach is awarding a scholarship to a
specific player and the team administrator will communicate this to the club office on the
designated roster form.
