SQUASH WAIKATO TARANATA SCHOLARSHIP

OVERVIEW

The Squash Waikato Taranata Scholarship is designed to foster the pursuit of excellence. The scholarship recognises our Region’s squash talent and player development opportunities. Squash Waikato aim’s to provide squash players and coaches the opportunity to further develop skills that contribute to the quality of their performance or coaching aspirations at any level of the game.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Squash Waikato Taranata Scholarship fund has been created out of sponsorship and grant monies given to Squash Waikato to support the development of players and coaches. Squash

Waikato intends to award scholarships annually with the total value of all scholarships not exceeding

$1,200 each calendar year. The value of each individual scholarship is dependent on the calibre of the application and costs associated with the player and coach development and therefore may vary in value. It is the responsibility of the applicant to pay for any remaining fees over and above the scholarship awarded.

The Squash Waikato Taranata Scholarship will be available to access from 1 January until 31

December, but Squash Waikato will call for applications in February/March each year. Applications received outside of this period may be considered, but only if there are still scholarship funds remaining for that year. Scholarships will only be awarded when the criteria and standards set by the Scholarship selection committee have been met.

Squash Waikato will continue to seek sponsorships and donations to maintain the scholarship fund, but scholarships will only be awarded when funds are available. All applications will be considered by the Scholarship Committee appointed by Squash Waikato (minimum of 2 Squash Waikato Board members and one Life Member).
