Self Development
In the context of Spirituality and a Practical Approach
January – April 2014
MISSION
To offer the youth of this country an aspirational set of values to live by; to help them
achieve a balanced life focused on a spiritual goal and an ethical material life; and to
contribute to nation building.
APPROACH
Will have a set of practical and interactive curriculum spanning
a) Evolution of Philosophy (Yoga) and Personality (Values)
b) History, purpose and practice of religions
c) Explore spiritual systems and tools (Meditation practices)
d) Personal transformation and “how to” sessions for self development
DESIRED OUTCOME
a) Better understanding of various philosophies and respect for various religions
b) Inspired and self motivated to pursue a balanced life
c) A deep interest in a Spiritual Sadhana
d) Honest and capable students with hopes of a better India and humanity
PARTICIPATION
a) 100 new students from each year
b) Seated in an auditorium
c) Groups of 20 with a coordinator for each group
d) Notes taking and feedback. Diary or a notebook and sheets of paper given in
advance
DURATION AND FREQUENCY
a) 16 sessions
b) Saturdays
c) 60 minutes each day
d) Time: 12.00-1.00 PM

We will choose from the following formats
a) Talks and Lectures from Scholars and Professionals, Videos – Podcasts,
DVDs
b) Group Discussions, Workshops, Practical Sessions
c) Emails and Handouts
d) Suggested Reading materials
FACILITIES DESIRED
Large enough Classroom / auditorium with Multi media capability
Access to a special library or build one from contributions
A small quiet Meditation Room in the campus
