OPIR Signature - Remote Sensing Analyst Mid/Sr General Summary Processes and exploits complex data including spectral, thermal, and/or synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data. Applies basic-to-complex non-literal exploitation analysis techniques in the visible (VIS) through shortwave infrared (SWIR) spectral regions, midwave infrared (MWIR), and longwave infrared (LWIR) hyperspectral data. Develops algorithms, evaluates tools, and creates customized remote sensing methodologies and products to address a variety of intelligence problems. Your Responsibilities: Lead the research and development of algorithms to characterize OPIR data, using signature matching and signal processing techniques. Serve as primary customer interface on technical issues Provide specific technical expertise performing high-level analytical assignments across several complex tasks Conduct in-depth, content-dominant Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) analysis Apply and interpret advanced engineering or scientific theories, concepts, and techniques Develop or direct the development of solutions to complex technical problems where little or no precedent exists and innovation is required Document research through technical reports and papers Collaborate in an R&D team environment What You will Do: Create automated classification and characterization of targets using OPIR collected signatures. Apply rigorous statistical methods and analysis to data to ensure findings are complete and accurate. Develop signal and image processing algorithms for remote sensor data processing and exploitation Analyze utility of and rapidly develop applications for multi-spectral sensor data Develop, enhance, test, evaluate, and integrate scientific algorithms in high-level scientific computing languages (MATLAB, IDL, Python). What You Need: Proficient in one or more programming languages (C, IDL, Python, or MATLAB) Must have experience in signal processing and analysis, including waveform analysis, exploiting signatures for signature library databases, creating algorithms for signature matching, and creating and working with signature databases (HSI, MSI, MASINT, OPIR etc) The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years experience and have a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Intelligence Degrees required: Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Remote Sensing, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field Strong Science and Math foundation Works well in fast paced, highly technical environments Has effective communication skills, and works well in a team atmosphere Location: Charlottesville, VA Security Clearance: Current Top Secret SCI Clearance
