6th Grade
 Back to School Open House – Student and parents will come and get student
lockers and schedules for the new school year. Parents will be notified in
July.
 6th Grade Orientation usually in the fall shortly after school starts.
 Parents of students who participate in athletics will be required to help with
concessions and gate at athletic events.
 Parent –Teacher Conferences in October
 Yearly service hours.
 Chaperones for class field trip.
 Application Night – Parents apply for students to attend Washington
Catholic the following year. Information will be available to parents during
the second semester.
 Awards Day in May.
 Sport Physicals for student athletes in the summer.

7th Grade
 Parents and students can begin to fundraise for 8th Grade class trip to St.
Louis by hosting dances for Washington Catholic middle school students.
All dances must be approved by Mrs. Craney and the school board.
 Parent –Teacher Conferences in October
 Parents and students are required to host reception for 8th Grade graduates,
parents, and families. This happens at the end of May. More information
will be available to parents in April.
 Parents and students are responsible for the Middle School Street Dance at
the end of the school year. This dance includes all students in grades fifth
through eighth from Washington Catholic. Washington Catholic students
may invite students from other schools. More information will be available
to parents in April.
 Parents and students are responsible for the Lemonade Shake-ups at the
Summer Social during the first weekend in June. More information will be
available to parents in April.
 Parents and students will need to work with 8th Grade parents and coaches to
purchase small gifts to honor 8th Grade student athletes on 8th Grade
Recognition day or night for sports.
 Parents of students who participate in athletics will be required to help with
concessions and gate at athletic events.

 Fundraising to pay for 8th Grade class trip to St. Louis. Can take place all
year until trip is paid for. All fundraising ideas must be submitted to Mrs.
Craney for approval from her and the school board.
 Parents and students will need to work with 8th Grade parents and coaches to
purchase small gifts to honor 8th Grade student athletes on 8th Grade
Recognition day or night for sports.
 Parents of students who participate in athletics will be required to help with

 8th Grade Graduation – Usually last Thursday in May before the end of the
school year. Parents have roles in the 8th Grade Graduation Mass.
Information will be available to parents in April.
 Picture Collage boards for 8th Grade Graduation in May.
 8th Grade Dance – organized and sponsored by 8th Grade Parents.
Information will be available to parents in April and will be discussed at
Freshman Orientation in May.
 Freshman Orientation will be held at the end of the 8th Grade year during the
evening in April/May.
 Yearly service hours.

Freshman Year
 Back to School Open House – Student and parents will come and get student

 Class officers need to select a faculty sponsor for their class.
 Application Night – Parents apply for students to attend Washington
Catholic the following year. Information will be available to parents during
the second semester.
 Parent –Teacher Conferences in October
 March for Life Pilgrimage - January
 Parents of students who participate in athletics will be required to help with
concessions and gate at athletic events.
 Yearly service hours.
 Election of class officers. Parents must sign form allowing students to run
for a class office.
 Awards Day in May.
 Freshmen Class is responsible for organizing, running, and cleaning up Big
BINGO Concession for Summer Social on the first Saturday in June. Class
officers and parents will organize. Each parent and students is required to
assist with needed food items and work. This fundraiser pays for Cotillion
Dance expense for the Sophomore Year.

Sophomore Year
 Back to School Open House – Student and parents will come and get student
lockers and schedules for the new school year. Parents will be notified in
July.
 Class officers need to select a faculty sponsor.
 Parent –Teacher Conferences in October
 Class Rings – Order forms given out in late August, order forms due early in
September, and rings delivered in October.
 Confirmation  Led by class officers, parents, and faculty sponsor – Cotillion Date and
themes need to be selected. All arrangements from DJ, decorations,
photographer and chaperones needs to be arranged. All sophomore parents
and students are required to help set up and tear down cotillion. Parents are
also required to chaperone the dance. Dance is held in the elementary
school cafeteria. All purchases for the Cotillion must go through the class
sponsor and Mr. Bob Atwood, at the Parish Office, before being made.
 Application Night – Parents apply for students to attend Washington
Catholic the following year. Information will be available to parents during
the second semester.
 March for Life Pilgrimage - January
 Parents of students who participate in athletics will be required to help with
concessions and gate at athletic events.
 Sophomore students and parents are required to clean-up prom the Sunday
after the event. Prom is usually the last Saturday in April. Class officer will
organize and notify all parents.
 Yearly service hours.
 Election of class officers. Parents must sign form allowing students to run
for a class office.
 Awards Day in May.
 Sport Physicals for student athletes in the summer.
 Abide by the Student & Family Honor Code.

Junior Year
 Back to School Open House – Student and parents will come and get student
lockers and schedules for the new school year. Parents will be notified in
July.
 Class officers need to select a faculty sponsor.
 All Parents are required to raise money needed for Prom. All fundraising
must be presented and approved by the Washington Catholic School Board.
 Parent –Teacher Conferences in October
 Led by class officers, parents, and faculty sponsor – Prom Date and themes
need to be selected. The Prom is usually the last Saturday in April. All
arrangements from DJ, decorations, and photographer need to be arranged.
All junior parents and students are required to help fundraise and set up for
Prom regardless if their child attends Prom or not. Parents are also required
fundraise, chaperone, and work out the details for Post Prom. All purchases
for the Prom and Post Prom must go through the class sponsor and Mr. Bob
Atwood, at the Parish Office, before being made.

Catholic the following year. Information will be available to parents during
the second semester.
 March for Life Pilgrimage - January
 Parents of students who participate in athletics will be required to help with
concessions and gate at athletic events.
 Parents and students will need to work with Senior parents and coaches to
purchase small gifts to honor Senior student athletes on Senior day or night
for sports.
 Senior Orientation will be held at the end of the Junior year during the
evening in April/May. We will discuss schedules, college applications,
FAFSA, and scholarships.
 FAFSA Meeting – Junior parents can come and learning about the process to
apply for free financial aid and student assistance that must be completed by
all parents and students before attending college. Usually held in
January/February.
 Yearly service hours.

Senior Year

 Order Graduation Materials – Announcements, Caps, and Gowns.
 Senior Pictures
 School will need a wallet vertical head and shoulders senior picture that will
be used in the class composite that hangs at school. A senior picture and
baby picture will also be needed for the yearbook.
 Senior T-shirts will need to be picked and ordered by the class.
 Parents of students who participate in athletics will be required to help with
concessions and gate at athletic events.
 Parents and students will need to work with Senior parents and coaches to
purchase small gifts to honor Senior student athletes on Senior day or night
for sports.
 Seniors and Parents will need to create picture collages that will displayed
for Senior Day/Night for sports.
 FAFSA Meeting – Junior parents can come and learning about the process to
apply for free financial aid and student assistance that must be completed by
all parents and students before attending college. Usually held in
January/February.
 Yearly service hours.
 Awards Day in May
 High School Graduation – Friday Night in May (8 PM)
 High School Baccalaureate – prior to Graduation at Our Lady of Hope (6:30
PM)
