Minimums to qualify for scholarships are 20 ACT and 3.5 overall GPA or 24 ACT and 3.0 GPA. Scholarship deadline is December 1.
December ACT score will be considered for scholarship if student is already admitted and requests UAB to pull their score. Honors
College admission offered to students who meet criteria: 28 ACT and 3.5 or higher GPA. Honors College Signature Program application
deadline is December 15.

Foreign Language is not required. A 25 on the ACT and 3.0 GPA are the minimum for MERIT BASED Scholarships (accept updated ACT

Admission application opens on September 1. Applicants are reviewed on an individual basis. The average GPA for students admitted to
the 2013 freshman class was a 3.8 and the average ACT score was 27.2. Writing portion of ACT is no longer required. Students are

Birmingham-Southern College

Average ACT is a 26.5 and average grade point average is 3.70. Applications are available via BSC online application or Common App.
Essay required, recommendation form and letter, resume (not required but preferred), transcript and application fee of $50. Application fee
waived if application is received by our Early Action deadline. Early action (non-binding) deadline is November 15, and regular admission
deadline is February 1. Merit scholarships are awarded based on where student falls in the BSC scholarship grid (which can be found
here: http://www.bsc.edu/admission/scholarships.cfm) as well as a holistic approach. Evaluations begin November 15. All ACT/SAT
scores sent by admission deadline will be considered. ACT and SAT scores are super-scored.
Students are encouraged to apply for need based financial aid by completing the FAFSA.

We use the GPA that is calculated on the high school transcript and we now super score the ACT.

for scholarships is acceptance to the college.

scholarships are 20 ACT and 2.75 GPA. Scholarship deadline is February 1, after which awards are based on fund availability.
Samford University

Application components include: application, $40 application fee, one academic letter of recommendation, official ACT/SAT score, high
school GPA, and personal essay. The average range for the ACT is 23-29, SAT is 1080-1320, and GPA is 3.48-4.0. Algebra II is
required. Foreign Language is recommended, but not required. The application committee values test scores and GPA, but takes a
holistic view in considering a student for admission and scholarships. There is a separate scholarship application for leadership and
presidential scholarship consideration. Revisions to the application and updated test scores will be accepted through the December 1th
deadline for merit-based scholarship consideration.

They work off rolling admissions and the application fee is waived for students applying online, either using the Common Application or
through the Spring Hill website. Official ACT or SAT test scores, official transcript, letter of recommendation from a teacher or
counselor. They do superscore the ACT/SAT. Recommended 20 ACT or 930 SAT and 3.0 GPA. Average of last year's incoming class
was between a 22-27 ACT and a 3.4 GPA. If you have below a 20 ACT, then they will look closely at your GPA and rigor of high school
courses for possible admission. Algebra II is required for admission. Foreign Language is not required. Minimums to quality for
scholarships are 20 ACT and 2.5 GPA.
