Definitions:
Star - white mark on forehead between eyes.
Strip - white marking extending from between the eyes to between the nostrils.
Snip - white or flesh mark between the nostrils or on upper or lower lip.
Heel - white marking found on the back of the foot.
Coronet - white marking which extends to approximately 1" above the hoof.
Pastern - white marking which extends to the top of the pastern.
Fetlock - white marking which extends to the top of the fetlock (ankle).
Sock - white marking which extends to midway on the cannon.
Stocking - white marking which extends above midway on the cannon.
Spots - pigmented spots located within white.

REGISTRATION APPLICATION
REGISTRY RULES:
RULE 2, SECTION 2 Initial Registration
Moriesian Horse Registration Certificates will be issued to owners or lessees who submit correctly
completed and signed MHR forms and pay the appropriate fees. In addition:
A. All applications must be accurately and correctly completed and will include a Certificate of
Service signed and notarized by the recorded owner (or lessee) of the stallion at time of
service.
Exceptions to notarization: Notarization may be waived if the stallion is listed with the
MHR as a Breeding Stallion or if there is a Stallion Report covering the year in which the
horse was conceived on file with the Registry.
B. A completed transfer application is required if the foal is to be recorded in a
name other than the owner of the dam at time of foaling.
D. A copy of the dam and sire's papers must be submitted to the Registry with the application.
E. Payment for DNA typing for breeding stock (mares and stallions) must be included.
F. A photo taken from the side to show full body conformation.
G. Every applicant may be required to provide additional information to correctly document a
registration.
H. A one-time membership fee is included with the first horse registered.

Bay - reddish shades from reddish tan to dark mahogany brown, black mane and tail, and black legs below the knees
and hocks.
Black - true black without any light areas
Black/Dark chestnut - basically black with the exception of red hairs on horse's coronets, pasterns, or back of
fetlocks.
Brown - black with light mealy areas at muzzle, eyes and inside of legs.
Buckskin - darker shade of dun with black dorsal stripe, black mane and tail, and black on lower legs.
Chestnut - shades from golden red to dark reddish brown: mane, tail and legs are not black but are the color of the
body or shades darker or lighter.
Dun - yellowish with darker dorsal stripe and sometimes stripes on legs: mane and tail not black.
Gray - mixture of dark and white hairs with white hairs predominating as horse ages.
Palomino - very pale creamy yellow to golden yellow: flaxen, silver or white mane and tail.
