“Not on Track”
Select ‘On Track’ to confirm that the student is progressing well towards achieving all the learning activities detailed in their My Professional Learning
Tool, within the timeframes set. Selecting “On Track” suggests that at this point in time, there is confidence in the student’s learning and development
that they will demonstrate capability (either at Beginning Capability, Capable or Highly Capable [Final students only]) against the Practice Standard.
Select “Emerging” to indicate that you have observed the student demonstrating potential around achieving all the learning activities detailed in their My
Professional Learning Tool, within the timeframes set. That is, with consideration of the student’s learning needs, areas of development and the right
supports put into place, the student is likely to demonstrate capability (either at Beginning Capability, Capable or Highly Capable [Final students only])
against the Practice Standard.
Select ‘Not on Track” to identify that the student has experienced noticeable difficulties around completing the identified learning activities within the
timeframes set in their My Professional Learning Tool. Selecting ‘Not on Track” indicates that you have clearly identified issues in the student’s
learning and performance against the Practice Standard, and that the Learning activities may need concerted review and adaptation to better respond
to the student’s learning needs, and to assist the student to get back ‘On Track’. If you identify ‘Not on Track’ please contact your Liaison Visitor for
support and to assist with developing an action plan around the student’s learning.
Introduction to the Mid Placement Assessment of Learning document
The Mid Placement Assessment of Learning document is to be undertaken collaboratively between student and supervisor. Where the student also has an external Social
Work supervisor, the mid placement assessment of learning report needs to be undertaken collaboratively with all parties involved. We recommend that each party prepare
information for each section and share this with each other, and then this report is prepared through a joint meeting to discuss achievements, issues, areas for development
and plans.

consider the learning and progress the student is making towards demonstrating capability at the end of placement against the sub-standards (and the associated questions
noted below). It is not expected that you assess the student’s progress against each question, but rather assess the overall progression of learning for that sub-standard (i.e.
