Grand Coulee Dam
The Grand Coulee Dam School District is located 90 miles west of Spokane and 70 miles north of Moses
Lake. Within a radius of five miles are four small towns with a total population of approximately 3,500 people.
Principal employers include the U.S. Bureau of
Reclamation, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian
Affairs and the Coulee Medical Center. Hunting, fishing, water sports, hiking, camping, and many other recreational activities are available.
Currently, there are 700 students enrolled in grades
K-12. The District employs approximately 45 certificated staff and 75 classified staff.

Master’s Degree required
Previous successful Administrative or Assistant
Principal experience
Strong commitment of effective management principles
Documented education/management experience
Assist the Principal in the overall administration of the school and serve as an effective member of a strong administrative team
Serve as principal in the absence of the principal(s)
Assist the principal(s) or perform the observation and evaluation of certificated and classified employees as directed
Assist in the selection, placement & orientation of staff
Recommend personnel as appropriate for positions
Assist in development of parent education programs
Maintain high morale of students and staff
Intervene in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills
Manage a variety of school functions (e.g. student disciplinary policy, school schedule, assigned personnel, etc.) for the purpose of enforcing school, district and state policy and maintaining safety and efficiency of school operations
Supervise the school’s extra-curricular and activities program
Ability to work with staff, parents and students on issues, concerns and programs as needed
Possess the knowledge and skills to facilitate the further development and integration of activities and special events into the overall school program
Ability to successfully participate in team planning, programming and instructional activities
Past training and experience in the application of the
TPEP model for teacher evaluation – Marzano Model preferred
Assist in coordination and articulation of curriculum between all grade levels
Good listening skills
Approachable by parents, students and staff
Creative problem solver and decision maker
Interacts with students and demonstrates a caring attitude
Encourages and plans for acknowledgment of achievement by all students and staff
Demonstrates respect for all staff personnel
Respects idea sharing
Fosters mutual respect among both staff and students
Previous experience working with minorities is highly desirable. Working with Native American youth is preferable
CONTRACT AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: In accordance with Administrative
Salary Schedule
190 day contract beginning August 25, 2015 (approx.)
Fringe Benefits as accorded to district certificated staff
