Zenger Farm SNAP CSA Program Agreement
2013 Harvest Season
Zenger Farm Shares is a Community Supported Agriculture
(CSA) program that connects farmers and consumers. In
2011, Zenger Farm invited SNAP individuals and families to
join their Farm Share program.
Traditionally CSA members buy a season's worth of produce
up front from a local farm and receive a weekly share of the harvest from that farm
throughout the growing season. A CSA member’s commitment to support the CSA program
actually begins when Zenger Farm purchases their seed in January!
This agreement is a contract between Zenger Farm and their SNAP CSA members. By
signing this agreement, both parties understand the risk and rewards inherent to organic
farming. To help manage the risk, Zenger Farm develops a diverse crop plan that includes
over 50 vegetables. Their weekly Farm Share will reflect the harvest of month with 6 -10
fresh produce items.

February 8: Returning Member Registration Opens
February 15: Neighborhood Registration Opens - for neighbors within 5 miles of the farm
February 22: General Registration Opens
May 1st : Registration Ends
► Farm Shares Season: June 8th - November 9th (23 weeks)
► Harvest Day: Produce is picked Friday morning and ready to pick up between
4:00 to 6:00 pm.
► Pick Up Location: 11741 SE Foster Road.
► Farm Share SNAP Member Price: $25 per share or $18 per scholarship share
(See Scholarship application below)
► Farm Share Payments: Paid weekly with Oregon Trail card, cash, debit or credit card.
► Special Note: In the event of a severe crop failure and Zenger Farm cannot provide any
produce, the Farm Share SNAP member is not required to pay.
Farm Share SNAP Member Eligibility
1) Member must currently receive SNAP benefits and have an Oregon Trail EBT card
2) Members must have the ability to provide a pre-season $50 cash deposit which is
refundable if Farm Shares are picked up all 23 weeks. (The deposit can be applied to
the last two Farm Share pick-ups.) Alternatively, SNAP members can provide a credit
card number, which will be used upon their approval if member is a no show.
3) SNAP benefits must be available each week in order to receive your Farm Share.
Farm Share SNAP Members Commitment to Zenger Farm
1) I understand that Zenger Farm is buying seed, planting, tending and harvesting a
portion of the farm based on my promise to purchase a share of the harvest each week.

2) I will remain in the Farm Share program for the entire 23 week season regardless of the
loss of SNAP benefits.
3) I will pay $25 each week with my Oregon Trail Card. I also have the option to use other
alternative payment options including cash, debit or credit card.
4) I understand it is my responsibility to either pick up my share, or make other
arrangements by Thursday with Zenger Farm CSA manager.
5) I authorize Zenger Farm to donate my Farm Share if it is not picked up by 6:00.
6) I understand that if I miss more than 2 pick ups or my account has insufficient funds, I
will forfeit my $50 deposit and may be asked to leave the program.

Zenger Farm Share SNAP Scholarship
Application
Zenger Farm mission is to provide access to good food for all. In that spirit, generous donors,
including fellow Farm Share members, contribute to the SNAP scholarship fund. Zenger Farm
Share SNAP Scholarships are offered each year to a limited number of SNAP members depending on
the availability of donated funds. Farm Share SNAP scholarships are $18 per week. Scholarship
SNAP members may pay with either their Oregon Trail card or with cash. Zenger Farm is proud to
support increased access to good food for people who need it most.
SNAP Scholarship Eligibility:
► Member must be currently enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
food assistance program
► Member must sign the Zenger Farm Share SNAP Member Agreement.
