The AIE office has reviewed all of College of Engineering & Computer Science. Dr.
Kulkarni provided leadership to revamp mission statements and SLOs to be more efficient

TracDat. Approximately one-half of the departments in the College of Arts and Sciences
have been reviewed.
The 2014 core curriculum changes must be submitted to THECB by fall 2013 and students
beginning in fall 2014 will enroll under the new core. UT Tyler faculty will decide on the
6 hours in the component area to be distributed to one or more of the foundational
component areas. The 2014 core must have 42 SCH. New assessment for the core
objectives are teamwork, social and personal responsibility.
Discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of measuring student learning and the value
added experience using standardized tests with non-scientific sampling and low stakes
incentives for representative performance abilities.
Tabled to discuss in April.
We will continue to review and meet with
departments in the summer.
All faculty are encouraged to participate in
any of the FLC projects and may contact Dr.
Bill Geiger for additional information.
