Sergey Neckrysh, MD is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, Chief of the Spine Surgery and a Board Certified Neurological Surgeon Specializing in the treatment of complex spinal conditions. Sergey Neckrysh, MD graduated in 1997 with Diploma with Highest Honors (Summa Cum Laude) and Doctor of Medicine degree from Moscow Sechenov Medical Academy - the oldest and the most prestigious medical school in Russian Federation founded in 1758. During the course of the study Dr. Neckrysh was awarded with the Scholarship of the President of Russian Federation for Academic Excellence and he spent twelve month at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons going though an infolded training in Neurological Surgery. Dr. Neckrysh completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Illinois – Chicago in 2006. In 2009 he was Certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Neckrysh is licensed as a physician and surgeon in the states of Illinois and New York. Sergey Neckrysh, MD published numerous scientific articles pertaining to the filed of neurosurgery and spine surgery. Some of his current research is focused on innovative complex spinal surgery techniques, osteobiologics, and the effects of minimally invasive approaches to the spine. Dr. Neckrysh focuses his clinical practice on complex adult spinal reconstruction, salvage and revision surgery, scoliosis and sagittal deformity, primary and metastatic spine and spinal cord tumors, degenerative conditions, and trauma.
