PROJECT for Chapter 5 – Linear Equations Formula Book
Directions: You will create a book that includes all of the linear equation information we will study in
Chapter 5. Each page must include the title, any formulas needed, and a complete example, which
includes all descriptions listed below! Be as creative as you want, but make sure you include all the
necessary information!
There will be checkpoints along the way where you have to turn in the work that has been completed for the
project thus far. Your teacher will check to make sure that you have started the project and are working
toward a finished product. Please make up your own examples and DO NOT use ones from our notes.
You can use printer paper, construction paper, markers, colored pencils, and any other type of art supplies.
Neatness and creativity count! See page descriptions below!
Pages
1. Cover
Description
Must include a title, your name, block number and be decorated and/or
include a picture
2. Slope (5.1)
Formula for slope, calculation of slope using two points, description of
something in real life that has slope AND a picture of it
3. Slope Intercept Form (5.3)
Slope-Intercept Form equation, example of an equation in slopeintercept form where the slope and y-intercept are identified
4. Horizontal and Vertical
Lines (5.3)
Information about EACH kind of line including it’s slope, y-intercept,
a picture of what each graph looks like, PLUS a real life visual of each
5. Point Slope Form (5.4)
Point Slope Formula, explanation of why point slope formula is useful
and an example of a problem where you use the point and a slope to
write an equation in point-slope form
6. Intercepts (5.5)
Definition of intercepts, example of how to find EACH intercept as well
as a brief explanation of steps

Explain the steps AND graph lines using the following methods:
a) table b) intercepts c) slope-intercept form
11/12. Writing Equations
Explain and write equations in slope-intercept form given:
a)slope & y-intercept b)point and a slope c) two points
THIS PROJECT WILL COUNT AS A TEST GRADE WORTH
496759374563745634956 POINTS! FOR EVERY DAY THAT THE PROJECT IS
LATE YOU WILL LOSE 10% OFF YOUR FINAL GRADE.
