Imagine what it would have been like if historical figures like George Washington or Thomas Jefferson
had a Facebook during the American Revolution. It may seem a little hard to imagine, right? Well you
are going to create a Facebook for an historical figure of your choice during the American Revolution.
Your Facebook must contain basic information about your chosen figure, people they were or may have
been friends with, posts and comments related to events during the time period.
-All information is historically correct- 30pts. (5pts. off for each historically incorrect posting)
-You must have at least 7 informational facts about your historical person-21pts. (3pts. each)
-At least 3 historical friends and/or groups- 15pts. (5pts. each friend or group)
-At least 5 posts- 50pts. (10pts. each)
-Correct dates on posts-10pts (2pts. Each post date)
-Correct spelling and grammar- 10pts. (2pts. deducted for each mistake)
-At least one comment per post – 25pts.

Revolutionary War. The posts must be relevant to the events of the period and your person’s

Making Your Page
Step 1: Type in the web address: www.classtools.net/fb/home/page
Step 2: To Add Name and Picture
1. Click on *CLICK HERE TO ENTER NAME* link
2. Enter your historical figures full name
3. Click submit
4. An image of your figure will appear. If it is not the correct image raise your hand.
Step 3: Edit your profile by clicking *CLICK HERE TO EDIT PROFILE* Use the information you gathered on
your historical figure to fill in the box. BE SURE TO USE = SIGN
Example:
Full name= George Washington
Current City=Mount Vernon, Virginia
Hometown=Wakefield, Virginia
Gender= Male
Birthday=February 22, 1732
Material status= Married to Martha Washington
USE ALL THE INFORMATION YOU GATHERED. Once you have finished entering all your information
click SAVE CHANGES.
Step 4: To Add Friends
1. Click on [Add] next to friends
2. Type in friend’s name
3. Click Add
*If picture if not correct raise your hand*
Step 5: Add a Post
You must have at least 5 posts.
1. Click on [Add post]
2. Leave author as your historical figures name
3. Under content enter your post
4. Under date enter your date (must be between 1763 and 1783)
5. For Image use the same image as you used your profile picture
6. Once you are finished click SHARE
Once you have completed your first post go to step 6 and save your page.
Step 6: Saving Your Page
1. Click on the Save icon to your right
2. Near the top of your page you will see “Enter a password so you can edit this template
later”enter a password your will remember and click “Submit”. You may want to write your
password down.

3. You will be taken to a different page where your page address will appear. Write down this
address correctly. If you do not write this address down correctly you will have to start from the
beginning.

Step 7: Now add the rest of your posts by repeating step 5
Step 8: Posting a Comment to a Post (at least one comment per post)
