CEH is part of North Richmond Community Health, an agency committed to making healthcare more accessible and culturally relevant. position objective This position sits in the Multicultural Health & Support Service (MHSS) team. The position aims to provide education, information and support on blood-borne viruses (BBV) and sexually transmissible infections (STI) to men from CALD communities. The multicultural men’s worker will also work with relevant service providers on culturally appropriate service delivery. This position will focus on the needs of men from high prevalence communities in particular. key responsibilities and deliverables Provide culturally appropriate education on sexual health, drug use and risk taking behaviours to promote prevention and harm minimisation. Raise the profile of BBV and STI in targeted CALD communities through community-based projects, campaigns, networking and lobbying under the supervision of the coordinator, community programs. Demonstrated understanding of the fundamental principles of confidentiality, respect and privacy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including well developed interpersonal skills. Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders. Strong computer skills Desirable skills & experience Understand the principles of community development and harm minimisation and an ability to work within a harm minimisation framework.
