Mary Love Collins dedicated her life to Chi Omega Fraternity.
She led the Fraternity from 1910 until 1952 as the National President, but continued her involvement until her death at the age of 90 in 1972.
More than any other Chi Omega, Mary Love Collins moved the
Fraternity to a position second to none in the fraternal world. More than any other Chi Omega, Mary Love shaped the Fraternity's principles, policies, and practices; and more than any other Chi Omega, Mary Love provided guidance and leadership to the entire fraternity world.
The Chi Omega Foundation welcomes applications for the Mary Love

2012 AWARDS
There will be five awards of $1,700 each given for the
2012-2013 school year.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be members of Chi Omega Fraternity in a full-time graduate degree program at an accredited institution during the 2012-2013 school year. Applicants must provide graduate level test scores to be considered. If applying for both the Mary Love Collins Scholarship and the Alumnae Educational Grant for the same academic year, the applicant may receive only one award.
Applicants who have previously been awarded the
Elizabeth Carmichael Orman Scholarship or the Alumnae
Educational Grant are still eligible for the Mary Love Collins
Scholarship; however, past recipients of the Mary Love
Collins Scholarship are ineligible to receive the award a second year.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the Chi Omega Foundation on the basis of scholarship, aptitude, contributions and service to Chi
Omega, the University and the community, and personal and professional goals.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE

4. Evidence of admission to a graduate degree program by an institution accredited for full-time study for the following academic year. If acceptance notices have not been received by the scholarship application deadline, note this on the scholarship form and contact the Foundation upon notification.
5. Four letters of recommendation: a) one letter from an Advisor or Advisory Board of the applicant’s active chapter ( please confirm that applicant has met all financial obligations with the chapter) , b) one letter from a professor in the applicant’s major, c) a second letter from a professor in the applicant’s major, d) one letter from an administrator at the applicant’s institution (preferably someone from their major), i.e.: Dept Chairman, Dean, Vice President.
Only the required four letters will be accepted. For those applicants who have been out of school five or more years, it is not necessary to request a recommendation letter from a Chi Omega advisor. You may substitute a recommendation from your alumnae president, an alumnae chapter member, or employer.
6. PHOTOGRAPH : Please enclose a wallet size color or black and white glossy headshot with your name on the back . This photo may be used in The Eleusis should you be selected. It will not be sent to the selection committee, nor will it be returned to you.
Your packet should be postmarked no later than March 2,
2012. All materials postmarked later will be considered invalid.
All applicants will be notified in May.
1. A completed application form – preferably typed and submitted on standard, 8.5 x 11, white paper.
2. A personal essay (see application form).
3. An official transcript from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended. Transcripts should be sent directly to the Chi Omega Foundation.
4. An official copy of test scores from the General
Tests of the Graduate Record Examinations, GRE, (for test information, contact: Educational Testing Service,
Box 955, Princeton, New Jersey, 08540). When registering for the GRE, request a copy of your scores be sent directly to the Foundation (code #0365).
The GMAT, Medical School examination, Dental
School examination, or the Law examination may be substituted for the GRE when applicable. The Miller
Analogy Test (MAT) will not be accepted in place of the
GRE. Graduate level test scores are required.
HELPFUL HINTS
Submit your application packet early to allow
Foundation staff time to notify you of any missing items.
This will give you an opportunity to correct omissions prior to the March 2, 2012 deadline.
Letters of recommendation are often late. To avoid this, give each person an envelope and ask each to sign the sealed flap after placing the recommendation inside.
Make arrangements to pick up all recommendations early and submit the recommendations with your application.
Only the requested information will be considered.
Additional letters or resumes will not be sent to the selection committee.
Please DO NOT put the application materials in a binder. REMOVE all staples and paperclips when submitting your application.
All paperwork, with the exception of transcripts, must be on ONE side of the paper.
If submitting GMAT, MCAT, PCAT or LSAT scores, you can include a sealed copy of your test scores with your application if they cannot be sent directly to the
Foundation.
