The Equal Rights Center (ERC) is a non-profit organization which has been advancing civil rights for more than 25 years. Today the ERC addresses problems of discrimination in: Housing Employment Disability Rights Immigrant Rights Government Services Public Accommodations As discrimination has evolved over the last quarter century, so have the ERC’s strategies. The ERC has expanded its scope and is continually updating its methodology to most effectively detect and combat the subtle forms of discrimination. Today, along with our thousands of members across the country, the ERC provides a multidisciplinary program combating discrimination. What We Do EQUAL RIGHTS CENTER: WHAT WE DO BROCHURE Counseling and Advocacy: The ERC provides victims of illegal discrimination with free and confidential counseling and advocacy. Enforcement Efforts: The ERC assists victims of illegal discrimination by pursuing administrative and civil court remedies in order to stop discrimination, prevent its reoccurrence, and seek compensation for each victim’s damages. Compliance Program: The ERC’s award-winning and comprehensive compliance program successfully promotes understanding of civil rights law for corporate, non-profit, and governmental organizations through three components: Staff training, Corporate policy review and development, and “On request” testing to measure compliance with the law. Testing: To identify and combat discrimination, the ERC employs testing, a recognized investigate method to assess compliance with civil rights law. Research: The ERC conducts research and cooperates in locally and nationally sponsored studies to measure and report trends in discriminatory practices.
