TRAINING OR RESEARCH ACTIVITY Academic Research During Ph.D.: I had spent 3 months (19 Jan 2014 to 24 April 2014) in the laboratory of Applied material chemistry at University of Namur, Namur, Belgium. Tutor : Dr. Carmela Aprile Research activity was incorporated to my doctoral thesis and got exposure to the sophisticated instrumentation. During M.Sc.: I spent 3 months ( 1 Feb 2008 to 30 April 2008) in Garware research centre at University of Pune, Pune, India. Tutor: Prof. Dilip. D. Dhavale Title of the project was “Synthesis of polyhydroxyquinuclidines from D-Glucose.” Industrial Research: I had more than 3 years of industrial experience on organic synthesis as a research scientist in research and devolopement department at Evotec India (P) Ltd, India. Which is a custom research organisation (CRO) deals with drug discovery research. Main activity and responsibilities: VIA FESTA DEL PERDONO, 7 – C.A.P. 20122 – C.F. 80012650158 – TEL. 02 503 111 – fax 02 50312627 2 Preparation of bio-active target molecules by carrying out various kind of synthetic reactions, purification and characterization of crude and/or pure compounds by means of 1 HNMR, 13CNMR, HPLC, GC-MS, MS and IR…etc. Worked on various air sensitive or metal reagents like n-BuLi, t-BuLi, LDA, DIBALH, NaH, LAH, NaBH4, NaCNBH4 etc. Undertook projects, which involved the reactions like esterification, nitration, Bromination, alkylation, condensation, protection-deprotection, cyclisation, reduction, oxidation, salt formation etc. Familiar with the drying process of different solvents like acetone, DCM, acetonitrile, THF/Di ethyl ether, DMF/DMSO, EtOH/MeOH, Benzene/Toulene. Purification techniques used; Column chromatography, Flash C.C., Crystallization, Fractional distillation, High vacuum distillation and usage of the preparative TLC. Maintain day to day work in written format and follow the safety protocols during the work in the lab. Achievements: Multistep anti-cancer drug molecules (such as Gefitinib, Erlotinib and Tandutinib) and their intermediates had been synthesized and well characterized independently. Hundreds of library compounds and intermediates were prepared and successfully dispatched to our clients within given timelines. Number of pyrimidine and pyrimidone derivatives were designed, synthesized and well characterized from milligram to gram scale. Achieved “Best chemist of the year award” in the previous company for the year 2010. PROJECT ACTIVITY Year Project 2008 Synthesis of Polyhydroxy quinuclidines from D-Glucose, University of Pune, India. 2007 Drug Disigning through Computer, University of Pune, India.
