Assessment form for external applicants to the Master’s programme The assessment form must be completed in order determine whether your degree programme meets the requirements for admission: first, two years of sociological studies (120 ECTS), and second, that the academic quality, distribution of courses, and course content must be similar to that of the bachelor’s degree in sociology at Copenhagen University. In addition to sociological theory, importance is attached to experience in the application of methods of social studies, both quantitative and qualitative. The form contains fields corresponding to the elements of the field that are covered by the bachelor’s degree in sociology at Copenhagen University. In order to be considered for admission, your degree programme must contain components that correspond to these. The content of the coursework can only be evaluated if you include appendices. It is not an absolute requirement that an applicant check all boxes in order to be admitted; just as it is not a guarantee of admission if all boxes are checked. It is not always possible to document an exact number of ECTS points (for example, if quantitative methods form part of a project). You can therefore fulfil a requirement for a sociological component without indicating the number of ECTS if you demonstrate in an appendix how and to what extent your degree component falls under the relevant sociological component. This form should not be regarded as a formula determining whether or not your application will go through, but as a means both to help you, and to help us as we evaluate the equivalency between your bachelor’s degree programme and the degree in sociology at Copenhagen University.
