HIP/EYE GUARANTEE:
Seller only guarantees any dog sold by Baypoint which carries the words
“Baypoint” in the CKC and/or AKC registered name to be free of hip dysplasia and
genetic eye defects according to the following guidelines and compensations.
X-rays films of the pup’s hips showing proper positioning and meeting OFA
standards must be submitted by a licensed qualified veterinarian to OFA between
24 and 28 months of age. Dogs over 28 months are not covered under this
guarantee. If the dog does not receive a passing rating with minor or moderate
dysplasia the buyer may opt to exchange the pup for a replacement puppy; same
sex and colour and of equal value and return the dysplastic pup to Baypoint. Any
differences in costs of the replacement pup must be covered by the buyer.
Alternatively, if the buyer choses to keep the pup, a replacement pup of equal
value, sex and colour will be available for purchase at half the original purchase
price. If the replacement pup is of greater value , half the value of the original
purchase price will be subtracted from the value of the replacement pup. The
buyer also has the option of being refunded half the original purchase price in
lieu of a replacement pup. In the case of severe dysplasia as certified by the OFA,
a replacement pup of equal value, sex and colour will be given to the buyer with
the option of either keeping the pup or returning the dog to Baypoint. Where
dysplasia may be evident early on, official preliminary evaluations by the OFA
may be considered after the age of 6 months. This will be at the discretion of
Baypoint who will have access to all relevant veterinarian information.
If the pup is found to have genetic eye defects, the pup will be replaced or
exchanged as outlined above. The dog must have its eyes examined by 1 years
of age by a certified veterinary ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist must state
in writing that the defect is definitely of a hereditary nature and not caused by
injury or illness. Dogs over 18 months are not covered under this guarantee.

Proper medical records are necessary for a replacement or refund and the
microchip number of the dog must be on all relevant documentation.
If the pup has either hip dysplasia or a genetic eye defect it must be spayed or
neutered before an exchange, refund or replacement pup is issued.
Documentation from a licensed veterinarian showing proof that the pup has been
spayed or neutered is required. This guarantee applies only to the original owner
and is nontransferable. The dog must not have whelped or sired a litter. Dogs
must be verified by their veterinarian that they are not significantly overweight,
or have had a previous illness or injury that could affect radiograph analyses or
the condition of the eyes. Bitches must not be radiographed when they are in
season. This guarantee will be void otherwise. The costs and scheduling the OFA
and CERF tests are the responsibility of the owner. All associated vet costs,
shipping, health certificates, crates and any other expenses having to do with
replacing or exchanging a puppy are the responsibility of the buyer.
