EHS Morning Announcements: 10/13/15
Spirit Week:
This week, EHS is holding a Spirit Week with a theme for each day. Tomorrow is Fancy Day, so
dress in your fanciest duds! Thursday is Pioneer Day, so wear your class color or Pioneer Wear.
Class colors are gray for 9th, white for 10th, red for 11th, and black for 12th. A Pep Rally will be
held Thursday afternoon to acknowledge your EHS homecoming court. Go Pioneers!!
Hey EHS:
Need to master your skills of world domination? Come play RISK. Our first meeting is Monday
October 19th from 2:45-3:45 in room 303W.
Homecoming:
Attention EHS...TODAY, Tuesday Oct. 13th is your LAST DAY to buy Homecoming Dance Tickets.
They will be on sale during lunch periods and after school. All guest forms were due Monday.
All Homecoming, Spirit Week and Dance committee members...
We will have a meeting on Wednesday to finalize all the week’s events. Meet in Room 202W at
2:35.
Attention Homecoming Court Nominees...
There will be a meeting during 3rd period on Wednesday, Oct. 14th to discuss the Pep Rally,
Football Game ceremony and the Dance. All candidates meet in Mrs. Biltz room, 202W.
Homecoming Coat Check:
Are you afraid to leave your belongings unattended at Homecoming? Do you want a
safe/secure place to store your belongings while dancing at Homecoming? Then use the Senior
Class Coat/Hat/Bag/Shoe Check Room which will be the Pioneer Room off the dining hall. Each
item checked will be $1.00.
Homecoming Flower Sale:
The Homecoming Game is coming up, so to show your school spirit the Sophomore Class will be
selling Large White Mums with the red E and white carnations with a red ribbon and red
carnations with a white ribbon to be delivered in homerooms on Thursday, October 15th. Your
homeroom teacher will have order forms or you can see Ms. McLaughlin in Room 109.
Attention seniors!
We will have 7 college visits next week! These include OSU Mansfield, Heidelberg, Youngstown
State, Baldwin Wallace, Ball State, Bowling Green Firelands, and John Carroll. See the sign-up
sheet in your team office for dates and times and to sign up for a pass. See Mrs. Trump in the
team 1 office with questions.
GEM:
There is a Gender Equality Meeting in room 207W after school today.
STRIVE Members:
STRIVE will be holding their first meeting this Thursday, October 15th in the Wi-Fi Café. Please
report directly to the Wi-Fi at the beginning of 1st period. If you have any questions, please see
Mrs. Kirsch located in the team one office. Hope to see you there!
Attention Students Spreading Awareness for Animals members:
Join Mrs. Lastafka to discuss a wild lively fundraiser. We will meet tomorrow from 7:15 - 7:45
a.m. in room 105. Anybody who missed the first meeting can still join. Stop by and help us be
their voice!
Baseball:
There will be a mandatory baseball meeting for all players and parents planning on playing this
spring, Wednesday Oct. 28th at 6pm. It will take place in the EHS cafeteria. We will go over
offseason workouts, fundraising, obtain shirt and shoe sizes, and get all player information.
EHS Herald:
There will be a meeting for The Herald newspaper club after school in Rm. 137 today. We will
be discussing fund raising options for the trip to either Chicago or New York City. If you haven't
joined The Herald yet, stop by on Tuesday after school in Rm. 137.
Hey EHS:
EHS is offering a new course that counts for college credit! Strategies for Creating College
Success will be offered at EHS during 7th period next semester. You'll learn how to stay on track
for college and get a college requirement out of the way for free! See your counselor or Ms.
Belcher in room 302W for more details. You must sign up by this Thursday!
Girls Soccer:
Girls soccer lost to Amherst last night 8-0. They will play again tomorrow at Shaker Heights.
Breast Cancer Awareness:
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Once again, the cheerleaders will be holding a
PINK OUT football game (Oct.30th). Pink Out t-shirts will be sold at ALL home football games
including the freshman and JV games as well as in the mornings, shirts are $15. Any questions,
please contact Miss Morgan.
Chipotle:
You can make dinner a selfless act by going into the Elyria Chipotle on Thursday, October 15th
between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to support the Elyria High School Drama Club. Just be sure to show
the flyer, or mention to the cashier that you are there to support the EHS Drama Club.
Attention Seniors:
Do you like to write poetry then sign up to be the Senior Class Poet. See Mrs. Baytos for the
guidelines in room 224 1st – 6th period and in the Senior Class Office in the Team 2/4 office 7th
– 8th period. Last day to sign up is Friday, October 23rd.
EHS Orchestra:
Please support the EHS Orchestra students and join them for their Fall Concert tomorrow at
7:00pm in the PAC. The concert should last approximately 30 minutes.
Yankee Candles:
Yankee candle orders and money to support Elyria Special Olympics are due to Andrea Orr in
the Team 1 office by Thursday morning October 15th.
Key Club:
Thursday's Key Club Meeting has been rescheduled for next Thursday, Oct 22 after school in
room 305. Please see Mrs Prechtel to sign up for upcoming events. All members must have the
two bags of candy sold by Thursday. See Mrs Prechtel or Mrs Johnson with questions.
German Club:
There will be a German Club Meeting this Thursday morning before school in room 232.
