Large restorations made simple at chair-side with
GC everX Posterior
With everX Posterior, GC, the specialist in innovative filling
technologies, has developed a glass fibre-reinforced composite,
whose special material structure opens up new possibilities for
filling large cavities. Short glass fibres effectively prevent the
occurrence and spread of filling cracks and make it the ideal
substructure for reinforcing any composite restorations. In
addition, with everX Posterior GC is catering to the growing
demand for an economic restoration alternative for big size
cavities.
The glass fibre-reinforced composite material is used as a
substitute for dentine – in combination with a conventional
composite as a substitute for enamel, such as G-ænial Posterior.
Glass fibres provide minimal horizontal shrinkage and prevent
fractures appearing in the final filling and propagating to the tooth
structure, which is considered one of the main causes of failure in
composite and amalgam restorations. The unprecedented strength
of the restorations is especially due to the high fracture toughness
of the material, which corresponds to that of dentine and is almost
twice as high compared with many other composites. Plus, its
reliable adhesion – both on the overlying composite as well as the
underlying tooth structure – guarantees reliable fillings. To achieve
aesthetic and wear resistance, everX Posterior should always be
covered with a light-curing universal composite, such as one from
the G-ænial product family.
As a reinforcing material for direct composite restorations, everX
Posterior is especially suitable for large cavities in the posterior
area and as a dentine substitute it allows for the immediate
treatment of major extended defects. Specifically these include:
