Companies from Germany and abroad will be exhibiting new products of the future, intelligent solutions and current trends in design to equip commercial and industrial buildings, public facilities and residential buildings with modern technology and so enhance quality of life. Light + Building is so multi-faceted. In addition to exhibitors’ new products, there is a wide and varied programme of events running alongside the show with digital, individual and networked solutions in addition to current trends in the lighting market. “Lighting perspectives of the future: the world’s biggest stage for lighting” Light + Building is the world’s biggest stage for the lighting market. It has everything from technical lamps, designer and decorative lighting for residential and commercial buildings up to and including street lighting. With around 1,600 exhibitors from Germany and abroad it features a wide range of products across 15 halls. Halls 1 to 6, 10 and the Forum showcase manufacturers whose innovative solutions effectively address the issues of sustainability, durability and design. A key aspect of Light + Building is its focus on the way people are affected by light: when designing their products manufacturers concentrate increasingly on how light colour and light intensity affects our ability to work and our well-being. The Trend Forum presents current trends in interior décor, of particular interest to architects, interior designers and lighting dealers, while the Luminale, Biennale of Lighting Culture in Frankfurt, features large-scale lighting displays designed by artists, lighting designers or lighting planners using the latest technologies. Through its many and varied displays it takes Light + Building out into the city of Frankfurt. Smart technologies: comprehensive overview of electro technology together with home and building automation At Light + Building Halls 8, 9, 11 and the Galleria are home to current developments in the areas of electro technology together with home and building automation. In six halls around 750 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will be presenting intelligent, integrated and networked technologies for an optimum balance between energy efficiency, comfort and safety. As the networking of electro-technical installations proliferates and there is more modern home / building automation and customised lighting technology, so the quality of the living and working environment will increase. The industry also presents solutions and technologies which focus on low energy consumption and modern safety requirements, whilst at the same time providing customised design possibilities and a high level of comfort. Digital Building is a special event that shows how best to apply digital networking in a building and the possibilities that exist, while technology islands present the latest developments in different sub-segments of building technology in terms of systems and networks. Here the focus of this special event is ‘rooms in functional buildings’. Light + Building 2016 also looks in detail at the area of security technology. Trade visitors will discover innovative new products in all aspects of building security, showing how these can be networked and incorporated in the digital building. Design, innovations and knowledge transfer In addition to the exhibitor product innovations spread across 22 halls, Light + Building also has a comprehensive programme of accompanying events.
