Curtin Volunteers! provides volunteering and leadership opportunities that enhance the student experience
and has benefits for the wider community. Its management team is made up predominantly of students who
play an instrumental role in facilitating volunteer programs in the areas of health, culture, youth and the
environment.
A leadership role in CV! is a great opportunity for you to demonstrate, and further develop a range of skills
that will benefit you in your studies and beyond. You will be mentored through your role by Curtin staff and
will be given the opportunity to attend personal and professional development training sessions delivered
exclusively to the leadership team. These include marketing, career development, conflict resolution and
project management workshops.
Successful applicants will have a strong interest in volunteering and community service and will meet the
essential selection criteria of the role.

Position Description
Position title: CV! Photographer
Position type: Voluntary
Commitment: 6 months
Hours per week: 5 hours per week (flexible - i.e. you may choose which hours you
volunteer).
Note: Additional one-off time commitments may be necessary in the lead up to each
semester as part of planning and preparation processes related to the Support Team.

Purpose of position
The function of this position is to provide photography services to Curtin Volunteers! (CV!).
Position dimension
Curtin Volunteers! provides volunteering opportunities to students and the wider community by creating and
nurturing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. It facilitates personal and professional
development and offers leadership opportunities to its volunteers as they engage in mutually beneficial
community initiatives.
It sits within the Curtin University structure, operating under Community Life, Support Services. The
Photographer is part of the CV! Support Team and is instrumental in documenting the experiences and work
completed by volunteers. The images captured by the Photographer will be used for marketing and
promotional purposes.
Reporting and key relationships
The Photographer works under the direction of the CV! Director of Marketing. Other key relationships

 Assist in the development of marketing-related strategies.

 Maintain an archive of photos and videos for marketing purposes.

Publicity and promotional events for CV!.

Specific volunteering programs/projects.
 Edit and compile photography content.
 Publish creative content on social media, website, blog and other media forums.
Program participation
 Commit to participating in at least one CV! volunteering program.
Organisational understanding
 Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of University policies, procedures and legislation which impact upon
work activities and their outcome.
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CV! guidelines and procedures.
Compliancy and legislative knowledge
 Comply with University policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
 Meet Occupational Health and Safety, anti-discrimination, equal opportunity and other legislative
requirements.
