Marble Challenge
Lesson:
Group problem solving project: Students will
construct a structure to carry a marble
between opposite corners of a piece of
cardboard in the longest amount of time.
Construction materials are limited to the
cardboard base, (2) 5 x 8 index cards, and
24 inches of masking tape. Scissors, marbles,
and stop watches are available in the room for
student use in building and testing. Students
may work individually or in small groups to
complete the challenge.
