Student athletes must typically balance the roles of being a full-time student and a full-time athlete. What is an athletic scholarship? An athletic scholarship is a form of scholarship to attend a college or university awarded to an individual based predominantly on his or her ability to play a sport. Athletic Scholarships give many student athletes the opportunity to use their athletic talents and get an education. What type of scholarship offer should I expect? This is something that is almost impossible to predict. In addition to current academic results, SAT test scores, timing, available budgets, and the coaches perspective of the athlete’s ability, the college coach is the only one who can decide what scholarship amount they will offer a prospective student athlete. We cannot guarantee any level of scholarship to our athletes will be awarded. What does it cost to register? Registration with All-American Sport Scholarships is £895.00. With other companies registration is typically in excess of £2000.00. Can I get an academic scholarship? Student athletes are eligible for academic scholarships if their grades and test scores qualify. Academic scholarships are great opportunities for athletes if they’re not able to secure an athletic scholarship or they need more financial aid in addition to a smaller athletic scholarship package. To earn an academic scholarship, you need to have strong grades and test scores. Each university has different requirements for academic scholarship aid. What is the ACT / SAT? The SAT and ACT are both standardized tests for college admissions in the United States. The tests are intended to assess a student's readiness for college. All four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. accept these. Scores can impact admittance and prospective students being more marketable to coaches as they may qualify for academic scholarship. What is the NCAA? The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit association of 1,281 institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals that organizes the athletic programs of many colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. Under NCAA rules, Division I and Division II schools can offer scholarships to athletes for playing a sport. Division III schools may not offer any athletic scholarships. Generally, larger schools compete in Division I and smaller schools in II and III. Eligibility rules are different than the NAIA. What is the NAIA? The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics is the organizing body that oversees college athletics for its member 258member schools. Schools who are members of the NAIA are made of smaller colleges located in the United States and Canada. Eligiblity rules are different than the NCAA. Do I have to register with the NCAA /NAIA? In order to be eligible to compete in college sports at the NCAA and NAIA levels, you will need to register with their respective Eligibility Centers. It is recommended that you register as you enter your Year 13. Make sure you know which division level you are able to compete at before you register for any Eligibility Centre; this will save you both time and money. What does a full scholarship cover? A ‘full’ or ‘100%’ scholarship covers the cost of tuition, room, board, books and sports related clothing and equipment. What is a junior college? A junior college is a twoyear education. The highest certificate offered by such schools is usually an associate's degree, although junior college students may continue their education at a university or college, transferring some or all of the credit earned at the junior college toward the degree requirements of the four-year school. Talented athletes who would not meet the academic standards of a major college program may be able to play for two years in junior college, establishing an academic record in the process, and then transfer to a major college. 4 OUR 5 STEPS TO SUCCESS… 1.IDENTIFICATION All-American Sport Scholarships works on an “invitation-only” basis.
