Newsletter February 2012 Story Preservation Initiative, a nonprofit corporation All signs point to 2012 being a year of positive change and growth. The latest news: Story Preservation Initiative has become a nonprofit corporation. We are at work readying our application to be filed with the Federal gov’t to obtain 501 (c) 3 status. When complete, we will be eligible to apply for and accept taxexempt grants and donations from individuals and foundations. We will also be able to partner with other nonprofits looking to create oral history collections. We are very pleased to have made this change. It brings with it the possibility for significant growth of Story Preservation’s oral history collection, which is deemed to be an educational, historical, and cultural resource.
