Membership Application
Dear GRCA applicant:
Thank you for your interest in joining the Girls Rock Camp Alliance! We are excited to review
your application and learn more about your program.
The Girls Rock Camp Alliance is an international coalition of organizations whose shared
mission is to empower girls and women using the tools of music education to foster self-esteem
and confidence. There are currently 43 full member organizations, and the Girls Rock Camp
Alliance recently received independent 501c3 non-profit status.
Becoming a GRCA member aligns your program with a network of girls rock camps and
projects that share similar values and goals. Benefits of joining GRCA include networking,
curriculum sharing, training, development assistance, camper referrals, and the opportunity to
participate as a member at the GRCA’s annual conference, which brings together representatives
from camps and like-minded programs from around the world.
As a first step in the application process, please review the enclosed materials to determine if the
values and practices of your organization seem like a good fit with the standards and values of
the Girls Rock Camp Alliance. If you decide to apply, your completed application will be
reviewed by the GRCA Board of Directors, which is made up of representatives of current
GRCA camps and independent supporters.
If your application is approved, your initial member status will be set at PENDING until further
notice. Pending member organizations can freely utilize GRCA networking and program sharing
and link to member sites. More information on pending and full member status is detailed below.
If your application is denied, GRCA will provide an explanation and list of recommendations in
order to be reconsidered for membership at a future time.
Feel free to contact any of the member organizations (see attached) for further information about
why they joined the GRCA, what its like to be a member and other questions you may have. If
you have questions about the application process, please email kate@girlsrockcampalliance.org
or call in the USA (503)459-8343 (email Kate for instructions on calls from outside of the USA).
Once your application is complete, please email it as a Word doc or PDF along with any
supporting documents to kate@girlsrockcampalliance.org.
Thank you so much for your time and energy in answering our questions and providing as much
of the requested documentation as possible. You will receive an email notification that we are
processing your application shortly.
Sincerely,
Kate Walsh
