Our thoughts are with Bob Angove who is currently battling cancer in hospital at present and wife
Helen who is by his side constantly. At this stage, Helen has requested no hospital visitors, please.
Helen has been letting Bob know that we are constantly asking after him and has appreciated our concern.
Please Note: There is NO meeting on Thursday 4 December in lieu of our Christmas Party lunch at the Sullivan's home on Sunday 7 December from 12 noon. If you haven't yet rung Pam to let her know if you are coming and what you can bring (ie salad, sweets or nibbles so that we don't double up) then please call her on M 0415 244 855 by this Thursday so that we can complete catering arrangements.Don't forget to bring an <$5 Kris Kringle fun gift for others. Please let
President Yvette know if you are unable to attend so that we know you've read your emails and
Newsletters!
Thursday 11 December will be our Annual General Meeting (to nominate the 2015-16 Board) and
Club Assembly (at which you can raise any issues that you wish to discuss). A robust discussion by all members should be very entertaining.
Then on Thursday 18 December (our last meeting for the year) our guest speaker will be Rosanna
Mangiarelli (Presenter of Channel 7's Today Tonight) - and this will be held in the Dining Room so please feel free to invite your friends and colleagues to meet and speak with her, and listen to her exploits in journalism.

We will then recess for two weeks (who wishes to meet on 25 Dec and 1 January?) and have an offsight brekky at Alphonso's on Hutt Street on 8 January.
Don and Ellen Tindale welcomed a new granddaughter into their family - their daughter
Claire and her husband Luke are as proud as punch! Orla Beth (lovely Irish name) was born on 20 November and weighed around 7 lbs 12 oz (3.52kg).
We wish almost-inducted Miriam Silva all the best for her 4 December ankle operation to make a minor adjustment to her previous surgical implant. Miriam has been busy in her
TAFE CEO role and has been overseas and interstate so much that we haven't, as yet, been able to induct her. We'll keep trying!
DG John's Rotary Roundtable was excellent in late November and we were able to listen to a range of excellent speakers from interstate about the Foundation, Membership and Interplast. The breakup sessions were also well received by all the attendees - and offered a plethora of subjects to become more familiar with.
We then broke into Club Committees to discuss fundraising, projects and club service matters.
Conference Early Bird Prize draw
Our statistician who loves prime numbers (aka Conference Chairman and PP Richard Jarrett) then put up on screen a listing of randomly numbered Conference Early Birding attendees to see who wins the prizes of shark, sealion and tuna swimming!
Our winners were: Lauren Rasmas (Shark Diving); Judy Nettlebeck and Robin Trevilyan (Swim with the Tuna); and Graham Bull and Kerry Nelligan (Swim with the Seals). These five winners get one ticket each and they are invited to take along a partner on their trips at Rotary-reduced prices.
Our thanks to our sponsors for these prizes for both the Super Early Bird and Early Bird draws.
District Governor Nominations for 2017-2018
Posted by Yvette Reade on Dec 04, 2014
If you would like the opportunity to lead Rotary forward in 2017-18, put your hat in the ring and nominate for the D9500 District Governor role for 2017-2018. Nominations need to be forwarded to the District Governor by 12 February 2015.
RI bylaws require that each nominee must be a member in good standing of a functioning club in the district and must have served a full term as club president, or as charter president from the date of charter to 30 June (6-month minimum), at the time of nomination.
Members wishing to suggest qualified Rotarians to the Board for nomination should advise the
Secretary in writing as soon as possible.

Yes it is your chance to donate $20.00 to Cash for Cans again.
For the last few years members have donated $20.00 to the Cash for Cans program. The money is used by Theo at the local Hutt Street IGA to purchase goods for the Moore Street Centre. Theo uses his purchasing power to obtain items at a discount and even adds in extra from his own pocket which in effects double the value of your donation.

4. Council on Legislation and District Conference Motions
The build up towards the 2016 Council on Legislation is well underway. Clubs must be mindful that
Rotary International must receive proposed legislation, including confirmation of the District’s endorsement of any proposals from DG John Campbell by 31 December 2014.
While we have no proposals flowing out of either the District Conference or the District Planning
Assembly, Clubs and Committees are still able to initiate them within the timeframe mentioned above. Proposed legislation needs to be submitted to Rotary International through the online form found at https://rotary.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV 86x9bOkfU8vwXlh
To assist anyone in our District to prepare legislation, a new “How to Propose Legislation” course has been developed in Rotary’s Learning Centre. The course can be found by going to My
Rotary>Learning & Reference>Learning Centre
The time frame to propose motions for the Business Session at the District Port Lincoln conference is similar – all motions must be in the hands of the District Secretary, John Pohl, by 31 December .
Email all motions to jemp@senet.com.au

Flag
A visitor from Holland was chatting with his American friend and was jokingly explaining about the red, white and blue in the Netherlands flag.
“Our flag symbolizes our taxes,” the man said. “We get red when we talk about them, white when we get our tax bill, and blue after we pay them.”
“That’s the same with us, the American said, “only we see stars, too.”
Robber
A little old lady came home from shopping and found a robber in her kitchen. Scared and not knowing what to do, she raised her hand and quoted the Scripture "Acts 2:38." The robber froze in his tracks, so she called the police.
When the policeman came, he saw this robber standing perfectly still and wondered what the lady had done. He asked her, and she replied, "I just quoted some Scripture.
" The policeman turned to the robber and said, "Why did that Scripture make you act this way?" The robber replied, "Scripture, what Scripture? I thought she said she had an axe and two 38s."
