WOD#1= discursive: passing aimlessly from one subject to
another; digressive; rambling. 2. proceeding by reasoning or
argument rather than intuition.
WOD#2= elegy: a mournful, melancholy, or plaintive poem,
especially a funeral song or a lament for the dead. 2. a poem
written in elegiac meter.

1 get in 6 groups
2 each group picks 2 poems/poetry allusions found in PWB in Adah’s chapters.
3 For those 2 poems: find original poem, read it, analyze meaning, find poem in
PWB, check if there is any difference between original and what is in PWB,
analyze how the incorporation of the poem enhances meaning in PWB and extends
to theme of the book.
4 Go to forum on netschool in PWB section and post to the forum once for each of
your 2 poems with the information you found in the above task.
5 As prep for future discussion/essay, check out what is posted on the forum from
all classes.

- A superior introduction paragraph (and what is done well)
- taking a 5 paragraph to a 6-7 for on demand essay
2 revisit denotation of ‘moral’ and talk about that in relation to scores and needing to
accurately address the prompt in the essay
3 get back on demand essay and make revisions in order to earn more points. Think 1st
about accurately addressing the prompt, then best evidence to support that, and finally
your level or analysis to go deeper with the “so what” and the diction/syntax you use to
convey all that.

2 go over where to find the sonnet project guide and what the focus statement is.

1 Read some posts on the PWB literary allusions in the forum,
2 make revisions to on-demand essay.
3 Work on sonnet project (summative assessment due Monday 26th)
4 individual conferences related to: grades, missing assignments, college essays, etc.
5 work on any other outstanding assignments
