We bolster this confidence by offering a pass guarantee to all of our students. Kaplan Nursing Partnership Proposal Program Component 4 Implementation Overview Integration of the Kaplan Integrated Testing resources follows two tracks once partnered with Kaplan: the students and the faculty. Student Integration All Students that are enrolled within our IT Program will be activated by the submission of cohort rosters. These will designate them into a cohort by month and year of graduation. As the students are entered into the Kaplan system, they will be e-mailed a username and password which will provide them their access to everything that they will be using in conjunction with Kaplan. For each cohort, a Kaplan representative will come on campus and orient the students (Approximately an hour) covering their materials, resources, and how to maximize their efficacy with our program and their curriculum. These orientations will also consider/account for how faculty will be creating assignments from the resources, scoring and/or points awarded for assignments and the Kaplan representative will convey that information—so the students know ahead of time not to use any material prior to the assignment if designated as such. For each new group of students in the ensuing semesters, the format will be the same. Note: It is often best to hold the faculty training/orientation prior to the student orientation to ensure proper messaging of grading/assignments, etc. Each cohort will also receive a secondary Orientation (When they graduate) which covers the NCLEX Review Course, and strategy/preview to the course structure, expectations, and how to maximize efficacy with their resources. Initially, the Kaplan nursing consultant will meet with nursing faculty for the “Faculty Orientation” (Approximately 2 hours) and ideally held in a computer lab, which will provide a hands-on review of all of the student materials, as well as begin to strategize about how and where to best use the many resources. The orientation will include reviewing the Kaplan study skills, the secured and practice tests, the case studies, and the NCLEX resources. Each faculty member will also be enrolled into their own student account so that will have all of the student assets available to them and understand the “student perspective”. During this meeting the consultant will also instruct the faculty on how to navigate the administrator site, how to access the scores following testing, and how to interpret that data. And finally, at this meeting, the Consultant will help identify best-practices and discuss implementation concepts for the school to adopt—and create a timeline for implementation based on the feedback given by the faculty. A note on Implementation: At the School’s discretion (but with Kaplan guidance), the faculty may opt to integrate Kaplan’s resources in a multitude of ways. The consultant will provide topic blueprints by subject, and provide insight into the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods. The faculty may opt to meet with the consultant on a deeper level, and schedule meetings with individual or departmental faculty to look at particular syllabi in conjunction with the secured and practice test blueprints to evaluate which might be in closest alignment with those courses. Typically this is Kaplan Nursing Partnership Proposal Faculty Integration 5 scheduled after the initial faculty orientation, and implemented relatively quickly thereafter. (Due to the nature of the individual or departmental needs, it is not possible to estimate the amount of time this will take, however, Kaplan will do everything it can to ensure a thorough and complete orientation, implementation and successful launch on the mutually agreed upon start date for the program.) Later in the semester, the nursing consultant will reconvene with the faculty to review the testing that has been done to date, the scores that you have accumulated, evaluate how the program is working, and what more can be done to maximize its effectiveness. Once the Kaplan Integrated Testing program has been fully integrated into the curriculum and the program has been consistent for a period of time, the Kaplan nursing consultant will meet with the faculty on a yearly basis (Or as warranted), to continue to guide faculty in using the program and be available as a resource. If there is ever a need for further training or guidance, more frequent meetings can be arranged.
