January 10, 2011
Greetings Decoria Township Residents and Landowners:
Decoria Township provides the service of garbage disposal to its residents and property owners on the second and
fourth Monday of each month from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Decoria Township Hall. We implemented an ID card
requirement in 2007 to control the use for only our residents and landowners.
The Board has received feedback to include more control on the type of garbage disposal. Decoria Township board
made and passed the following motion on January 3, 2011.
Residents and Landowners who present a Decoria Township garbage card can dispose of acceptable household
garbage as outlined by Decoria Township and Waste Management guidelines. Residents are allowed a single visit per
collection date that does not exceed six garbage bags (i.e. garbage bag size equal 50 gallon) or six 55 gallon garbage
containers per household. The limit does not apply to recyclable garbage. Decoria Township will refuse garbage
disposal to those who do not adhere to the guidelines.
The enforcement of the motion will go into effect as of Monday, January 24, 2011.
Sincerely,
Valerie Levos
Decoria Township Clerk
