122cms. Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st Jan.2014.
CLASS 2.
BSPS FIRST RIDDEN. Mare or gelding, 4yrs or over not exc.122cms.
Riders not to have attained their 10th birthday before 1st Jan. 2014. No
cantering except for individual performances. Ponies must leave the ring in
walk or trot.
OPEN MINI CHAMPIONSHIP. 1st & 2nd prize winners from classes 1 & 2.
Champion will qualify for the BSPS Champion of Champions.
CLASS 3.
BSPS TINY TOTS FIRST RIDDEN. Mare or gelding 4yrs or over not exc.
122cms. Riders not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st Jan. 2014.
On the go round ponies will not be asked to change the rein. In their individual
shows ponies will be expected to walk up and trot back, cantering is optional
but no figure of eight or change of rein is required. In this class the judge is
looking for a pony suitable to take its rider off the lead rein for the first time.
Riders in Tiny Tots First Ridden will not be asked to dismount.
CLASS 4.
BSPS MIXED HEIGHT NOVICE Show Pony mare or gelding 4yrs or over
not exc.148cms. Riders must be the correct age for the pony they ride.
CLASS 5.
BSPS SHOW PONY mare or gelding 4yrs or over not exc. 128cms. Riders
not to have attained their 13th birthday before 1st Jan. 2014.

before 1st Jan. 2014. Snaffle Bridles only. No cantering allowed except for

BSPS Mixed Height Novice WHP/ Intermediate WH Mare or Gelding, 4yrs old or
over, not ex 158cms Riders MUST jump their correct height section and be the
correct age for the animal they ride. Riders may ride more than one pony
providing the animals are of a different height section. Riders must declare if
they are competing in the 153cms or the Intermediate section. Please indicate on
entry form which height section you will be jumping in. BSPS RULE 39 applies.

BSPS Bright Stars First Pony. Ponies 4yrs old and over not exceeding 128cms.
Suitable for a childs First Pony off the Lead Rein. Riders not to have attained their
10th birthday before 1st Jan 2014.

BSPS Bright Stars Intermediate. Animals 4yrs old and over, exceeding 146cms.

BSPS Bright Start Heritage Mountain and Moorland Ridden mixed Breeds.
Mixed M&M ponies, any breed, 4yrs old and over. Riders any age, except riders must
be 12yrs old and over on 1 Jan in the current year to ride a Small Breeds Stallion, and
riders must be 14yrs old and over on 1 Jan in the current year to ride Large Breeds
Stallions, all ponies to be shown off lead rein.
BRIGHT STARS RIDDEN CHAMPIONSHIP. 1st & 2nd prize winners from Classes 44-49

CHAPS(UK)
This Show is affiliated to the Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK). Both owner and the
rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS(UK) nor must the horse/pony be registered with
CHAPS(UK) to compete.
The CHAPS(UK) Championship Show will be held on 28th-30th August 2014. Shows held on or
after the date of the championship show will count as 2015 qualifiers. Members to apply in
writing to CHAPS(UK) for appropriate qualifier card.
The following classes are CHAPS(UK) Qualifiers: 32 – 34. For full rulings and information on
competition/qualification, please refer to the CHAPS(UK) Members’ Handbook; or visit
www.chapsuk.com for rulings.
All stallions entering these classes must be Graded with CHAPS(UK). All stallions must wear
Stallion ID Discs in the ring.
CLASS 50.
CHAPS(UK) Non-Native Open Ridden Qualifier, any height, any type.
CLASS 51.
CHAPS(UK) Native/Cob/Traditional Open Ridden Qualifier, any height.
CLASS 52.
CHAPS(UK) Novice Ridden Qualifier. any height, any type.

ALL COMPETITORS MUST WEAR HARD HATS TO *BSEN1384/*PAS015/ *ASTMF1163
STANDARD AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED.
IT IS ADVISED THAT JUMPING COMPETITORS WEAR BACK PROTECTORS.
ENTRY FEES ARE NON-RETURNABLE.
NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE CLASS.
THE JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL. ANY OBJECTIONS MUST BE MADE TO THE
SECRETARY ACCOMPANIED BY A £10 DEPOSIT.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR AMMALGAMATE ANY CLASS.
NO LIABILITY IS ACCEPTED FOR ANY INJURY, ACCIDENT, LOSS OR DAMAGE TO
SPECTATORS, ANIMALS, VEHICLES OR PERSONAL PROPERTY.
HORSES OR PONIES THAT WISH TO COMPETE “H.C.” WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO

This Show is a qualifier for the BSPS Summer Championships. 1st and 2nd prize winners in the
following will qualify:
Open Lead Rein, Open First Ridden,
Novice or Open 128cms. 138cms. & 148cms Show Ponies
Open Nursey Stakes,Novice or Open 133cms, 143cms,153cms WHP.
Open 122cms. 133cms. 143cms & 153cms SHP.
Novice 133cms. 143cms. 153cms. SHP
1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize winners in the following will qualify:
Open Cradle Stakes.
Open Intermediate classes SRT, WH & SHT including Mixed Height Intermediate
Heritage M & M Open Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden & WHP Classes.
And 1st – 4th in Mixed Height Classes will qualify.
BRIGHT STARS PERFORMANCE SUPREME RULES
Ponies/Horses that have qualified for the RIHS or HOYS in any section CANNOT compete in the
qualifying rounds or the final.
The Bright Stars classes are open to BSPS members and NON members riding registered or
unregistered animals.
Animals do not require a JMB Height Certificate. Animals do not need to be registered to qualify
or compete at the Final.
Any suitable bridles may be worn and handles on saddles in the Lead Rein class are permitted.
Animals must be plaited, except for the Heritage Mountain & Moorland classes.
The 1st 2nd and 3rd placed ponies in each class will qualify for the final to be held at the 2014 BSPS
Championship Show.
BSPS Premier League
This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Premier League.
1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th placed ponies in the following Open classes-. Lead Rein, & First Ridden, 128cms.
138cms. & 148cms. Show Pony, Lead Rein Hunter Type, 122cms. 133cms. 143cms. & 153cms.
Show Hunter Pony,Cradle & Nursery Stake, 133cms, 143cms 153cmsWHP, Intermediate SRT, SH
& WH and Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden, Ridden& WHP classes.
In mixed height classes 1st – 4th will qualify. The final will be held at the Summer Championships
Show.
BSPS “Black Country Saddles” Best Rider
The Best Rider in each of the following classes at all BSPS Summer qualifying shows will be
awarded a Best Rider Card and qualify for the final at the Summer Championships Show: Open
Lead Rein, Open First Ridden, Open 128cms. 138cms. & 148cms. Show Ponies, Open Lead Rein
Hunter Type, Open 122cms. 133cms. 143cms. & 153cms. Show Hunter Ponies,Open Cradle &
Nursery Stakes, Open 133cms, 143cms, 53cms Working Hunter Ponies, Open Intermediate SRT.,
SHT & WHT Classes.
Open Heritage Lead Rein & First Ridden and to the best rider 25years and under in the Heritage
Ridden&WHP classes will receive a Card and qualify for the final at the BSPS Summer
Championship Show.
BSPS “Classic Security UK Ltd” Challenge; This show is a qualifier for the BSPS Challenge. The
highest placed pony in the Lead Rein, First Ridden, Open Show Pony, Lead Rein of Hunter Type
Open SHP,Nursery Stakes,Open Working Hunter Ponies, Open Intermediate SRT,SH& WH and
Open Heritage Lead Rein, First Ridden,& Ridden & WHP Classes that has not already qualified
for the 2014 HOYS in the appropriate class will qualify. If the highest placed has already qualified
the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.
CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
The Champion in each of the following sections at all BSPS Affiliated Summer Qualifying Shows
