Policies and Procedures:
Our program strives to use small group or individual instruction with grade level
curriculum, provide study aides, evaluate academic strengths/weaknesses and
provide academic accommodations that align with those recommended by the
student’s psychological-educational evaluation. All students must have a current
psychological-educational assessment on file.
Student achievements, as well as accommodations, are strictly individualized;
therefore, attention, assistance and accommodations will vary per individual.
However, there are some commonalities in the procedures of this course:
 Be on time to class every day
 Be seated, quiet and respectful to others during class
 Bring academic planner/agenda to class daily
 If needed/part of the student’s academic accommodation plan and a student
has a core course test, he/she will complete half of the test during the
appointed course period, then will complete the other half in one sitting
during Resource
 No more than time and a half will be provided for a test
 All tests must be taken the same day and no later than the next school day
after the test was assigned
-If a test is not completed in due time, the test will be given back to the
teacher and will be graded as is


The students are expected to abide by the MCPS Veritas. Any work
submitted by a student will be only the student’s work. When provided with
extra time on a test, the Veritas still applies and a student may NOT utilize
additional time as an opportunity to study more
“Spot checks” will be implemented throughout the quarter/semester. A
portion of this course will help equip you with effective organizational skills.
It is my job to make sure you are incorporating those skills in your daily
