2015 Scholarship Application Form
The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) will once
again award scholarships to outstanding, college-bound high school seniors in 2014. This year,
we will award no fewer than ten (10) scholarships valued at $1000 each.
Scholarship qualifications are as follows:
1. NDIA will select scholarship recipients seeking degrees in Science, Technology,
Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) disciplines that can support future needs of the
Nations’ Defense industry.
2. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior from a high school in the geographic
area served by the NDIA Rocky Mountain Chapter.
3. NDIA will accept nominations from any source in the prescribed format.
4. NDIA Rocky Mountain Chapter Scholarship Committee will make the final selections.
Decisions of the Committee are final.
5. Selection criteria will include, but not be limited to, academic achievement, community
involvement, leadership and motivation, and desired STEM educational and career goals.
In addition to this application, please include the following in your submittal:
1. Complete transcript with college entrance examination scores (ACT and/or SAT)
2. One page essay, authored by the applicant, describing intended course of study and goals,
and how the applicant envisions using that STEM education to support the future needs
of the Defense industry.
3. Letter of recommendation from one or more academic officials at the high school you are
attending.
4. (Optional) Letter of nomination from someone other than a family member or school
teacher/administrator, providing background on non-academic issues such as your
community service, demonstrated leadership, etc.
5. College acceptance letters, if available.
Scholarship awards will be made totally on a nondiscriminatory basis. Neither Scholarship
Committee members nor their immediate families are eligible for a scholarship award and cannot
benefit financially in any way from this program.
Scholarship applications must be submitted by mail and postmarked no later than Wednesday,
1 April 2014.
