This year the Association of Computer Professionals in Education (ACPE) has allocated up to
$10,000 for scholarships of up to $2,500 each for students in Oregon and Washington. These
scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors who have been actively involved in
the use of technology during their high school careers and are planning to pursue studies in a
technology related field.

SCHOLARSHIPS – SENIORS

Applicants must be committed to entering the teaching profession and/or working in a
certificated capacity at a school. A total of 24 scholarships will be awarded; 16, $900
scholarships are renewable for a total of four years. There are also 8 scholarships for $1500 that
are for one year only. Criteria include: character, leadership, seriousness of purpose, citizenship,
broadness of outlook and scholastic achievement.
BUICK ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM-SENIORS

Scholarships worth up to $25,000. Student must be enrolling for full-time study as a freshman or
undergraduate at a four-year college or university with a field of study that focuses on
engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. Award
criteria is based on Academic achievement, financial need, participation in leadership in
community and school activities, work experience, educational and career goals, and unusual
circumstances and other criteria: being a first-generation college student, female, minority, a
military veteran or a dependent of military personnel.

Bess Mikalson applicant must attend a state supported college (two or four year) in
Washington, award based primarily on financial need. Merit and community involvement are also

Lucille I. Hudon Scholarship
Spokane, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Whitman or Stevens Counties, WA Kootenai, Shoshone, Bonner or

have a 3.0 GPA in the last two years of secondary education, and have resided for two years in
the region of eligibility.

The Washington State Association for Justice Trial Lawyers are offering two, $2,000 scholarships
to students who have demonstrated academic achievement and have a documented need for
financial assistance and have a history of achievement despite having been a victim of injury or

$300. This scholarship is for Family Support Center/Kids First Children’s Advocacy Center past or
present volunteers, adult recipients of services, employees and/or students who have
demonstrated an interest in issues surrounding victimization and who wish to further their

PHIL SIMMONS VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP--SENIORS

A $750 scholarship will be awarded to a CHS senior who will be pursuing a vocational career such
as business, agriculture, forestry, and art. GPA and financial need will not necessarily be the
determining factor in awarding this scholarship.

The Colville Rotary Club is offering $3,000 in scholarships for graduating seniors to help finance

This year’s theme is “Why Veterans are Important to Our Nation’s History and Future”. The
winner of this essay contest has the chance to win a $30,000 scholarship. Local winner will
advance to the state competition; state winner will advance to the national competition. Make

PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF THE COMMUNITY AWARDS – 9-12

Up to $1,000. Student must show proof of volunteer activities and complete an application. One
student will be selected from Colville High School to compete at the state level.

JOHN F. KENNEDY PROFILE IN COURAGE ESSAY CONTEST- 9 – 12

demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in

PROJECT H.O.P.E INTERNSHIP: - 9-12

Project H.O.P.E. is an internship for students at health care facilities within the student’s local
community. The internship will last between 4 and 6 weeks. The student will rotate through
several health care departments (within one facility) or through more than one facility to
experience the broad range of available health care careers. Interns will be provided with a

The Quest Bridge College Prep Scholarship program is designed for high school juniors who have
