DEGREE INSTITUTION AND LOCATION YEAR(s) FIELD OF STUDY (if applicable) Peking University, China B.S. 2003-2007 Basic Medicine Peking University, China Ph.D. 2007-2011 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Postdoctoral fellow 2011- Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD Neuroscience A. Personal Statement I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. I work in the Brain Tumor Stem Cell Laboratory directed by Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa. I study Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) and Brain Tumor Stem Cells (BTSCs) using molecular biology methods, cytology, and animal models. My focus is using human Adipose-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (hAMSCs) as delivery vehicles to treat glioblastoma (GB). The long term goal is to develop hAMSCs as an alternative therapy for patients with GB. I have a broad background in cellular and molecular biology research and also a strong background in the oncology, which is vital to accomplish my goals. B.
