DESCRIPTION
This is a seasonal position. Applicant must be available on Wednesdays from 12:00pm-3:00pm and
Thursdays from 8:30am-11:30am and 12:30pm-3:30pm during the Winter-Spring and Fall season
(January-May; September-December).
The River Forest Park District’s tot program is seeking a motivated Instructor to teach in a 4-6 year old
classroom starting this Winter-Spring season. The Park District’s tot classes are split up into 4-week
sessions and offer a variety of fun and educational topics, including nature, cooking, science, and art.
The instructor must be willing to teach in a classroom and outdoors.
Qualifications: Minimum one year college. Must have teaching experience, along with strong
leadership and communication skills. Must be self-motivated, possess leadership skills, responsible,
organized, and have the ability to interact with children age-appropriately. Commit to working the entire
length of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities: Independently, the Tot Instructor will create, plan and instruct daily/weekly
themes for the 4-6 year old classroom based on the class session. Ideal candidates will excel in creative
lessons and leading a group of children through simple and complex tasks while creating a nurturing
environment. A strong candidate will plan age appropriate activities and is self-motivated. Candidate
must follow and adhere to our safety and positive discipline policy.
