Education: 1993 Sivilingenior (M.Sc) in Engineering Cybernetics/Robotics, Norwegian Institute of Technology, Trondheim, Norway, Thesis: “Real-time debugging” Employment history Dates 2011-present Company Daeco Function Independent consultant, seismic industry and general Curriculum Vitae 2009-2011 1995-2009 1994-1995 IT services Senior software architect for the Roxar reservoir modelling suite of software, refactoring the current system and developing future systems WesternGeco/Schlumberger Systems engineer and project/system architect, seismic data acquisition, navigation and seismic survey planning and quality control for marine, land and seabed operations Norwegian Air Force Corporal, Communications, running the Kongsvinger signal office Roxar Software Solutions/Emerson In the seismic industry since 1995, hired by Schlumberger WesternGeco (at the time Geco-Prakla) directly after university and military service. Started working on developing marine and seabed data acquisition systems in Sandvika, later in Asker, Norway. After a couple of years promoted to leading the data recording team, responsible for reading data from the field electronics, filtering and formatting the data before storing them on disk and tape. Tasks included making plans and leading the development in addition to performing field testing, field installations and field support. Became in 2003 the architect for the land seismic system development, fielded the D5 land seismic acquisition system and designed and prototyped the UniQ land seismic field system. In 2005 moved to the navigation department where the primary responsibility was developing 2D/3D/4D and WAZ survey planning and survey quality control systems. In 2009 changed employer to Emerson Roxar located at Lysaker outside Oslo. Role was architect looking into refactoring the old system and developing a new open component based infrastructure. Several refactoring projects were created, a new infrastructure was designed and documented, and an initial prototype of the system was developed. Left Roxar in 2011 to start my own consultancy company, and have since worked on several smaller and larger projects, primary of which have been developing SEG-Y and SEG-D format checkers for Troika International. Have in parallel with the development work been involved in international data standardization since 1996. Served as chair and vice chair on the Society of Exploration Geophysicists’ Technical Standards Committee from 2008-2013 and served on the OGP Geomatics committee and Energistics standards development team for several years. I have been involved in the development of many standards, for example SEG-D rev 1&2, P1/11 and RESQML, but also authored standards like SEG-D rev 3.0 used in seismic field data recording. Received in 2014 the SEG Special Commendation Award for this work.
