The Blandine House
25 N. Park Avenue
Fond du Lac, WI 54935
920-922-9487
Our Program
At Blandine, group therapy, individual counseling, off-site self-help group meetings and
sponsorship serve as the core components to our approach. We believe that educating our
residents about the disease of addiction and relapse prevention is an essential part of the recovery
process. We support the 12 Step philosophy.
During their stay the gentlemen of Blandine are actively involved in the upkeep of the house.
They perform the daily chores which include cooking, cleaning, gardening, lawn mowing,
painting, etc. Brushing up on basic living skills helps prepare residents for the transition back
into the "real world".
Upon discharge, all Blandine residents are encouraged to participate in our 12 month aftercare
program. There is no charge for this program, and it provides the resident the opportunity to
"stay connected" to the Blandine House while continuing with his recovery.

(DCP) has provided a wide range of services in the areas of mental health, Alcohol and Other
Drug Abuse (AODA), crisis intervention, and prevention/education, primarily for the residents of
our county. Services are offered across the lifespan, from children with severe emotional
disturbance to elders with dementia. Treatment is individualized, based on strengths as well as

disciplines make up the treatment teams, including psychiatrist, psychologist, psychiatric social
worker, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, nurses aid, occupational therapist, certified

occupational therapist assistant, and outreach worker. Support staff includes the Medical
Records Department, billing, intake and reception. DCP is regulated by the State of Wisconsin
Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS). We are funded by State, Federal and
County dollars.
Most services require co-pay based on the State of Wisconsin Sliding Fee Schedule. Some
insurance benefits are also accepted.
Inpatient services are provided on the Acute Psychiatric Unit and include mental health
evaluation/treatment and detoxification/stabilization from alcohol/drugs. DCP contracts with
several other counties who purchase these services for their residents as well.
Outpatient services are provided to residents of Fond du Lac County only.
Mission Statement
To provide prompt, effective and comprehensive evaluation and treatment for persons in distress
in a competent and compassionate manner. To provide specialty services to persons diagnosed
with mental illness and alcohol and drug dependency.
Philosophy
Fond du Lac County Department of Community Programs serves as a comprehensive
community mental health center for Fond du Lac County and other surrounding counties to
provide inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, crisis intervention, prevention, consultation
and education services that meet federal guidelines and state requirements.
The philosophy is to provide to persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and
alcohol and drug abuse/dependency prompt, effective and comprehensive intervention and to do
so with competence and cultural sensitivity.
Objectives
1. Prompt and timely intervention tailored to individual needs with a person-centered,
strength-based, recovery-oriented focus.
2. Provision of services that are efficient and cost-effective as well as helpful and treatmenteffective.
3. Emphasis on optimum length of stay in the inpatient unit rather than a fixed philosophy
of either short stay or long stay.
4. Attention to continuity of care with treatment services least disruptive to the person
delivered in the most integrated environment.
5. Appropriate concern and resources channeled
toward the prevention of illness rather than only
the treatment of illness.
