inspired to do more triathlons.
Registration
Registration will be open from 7.45am – 8.15am outside the changing rooms at the Evington

There will be volunteers in transition who can help answer any questions you may have.

Race Rules
The race will be run under the rules of British Triathlon. Details can be found by following the link.
http://www.britishtriathlon.org/britain/documents/about/rulebook_2012.pdf
There are a couple of important rules to make you aware of, and to ensure you have a fun but safe
race.
Helmets: Please make sure you have a cycle helmet that conforms to the appropriate BSI
standards. You will need to fasten your helmet before moving your bike, and should only take it off
once you have racked your bike.
Transition: You cannot mark your space in transition with anything to make it more visible or
obvious. For example, you cannot use a balloon or large towel to mark the location.
Bikes: You can ride any bike, as long as it has brakes and is a road worthy condition.
Nudity: Please make sure you wear a top for the bike and run sections of the race, as you can be
disqualified if not.
Music/iPods: Phones, iPods and other music players are not allowed to be used at any point
during the race. This is for yours, and others, safety. You need to be able to hear marshal’s
instructions. Again, you can be disqualified if you use them.
Drafting: This is where you follow another cyclist too closely, and gain an advantage. If you catch
another cyclist you must pass them.
Swim
In order to aid swimmer identification we will be using swim hats. If you have latex allergies then
please bring your own swim hat and tell the swim side marshals.
Bike
The bike route can be found on the back pages of this document. The route is signed and
marshals will be out at key points on course to help direct you.
As the event is being held at the end of the British Summer, the weather on the day maybe damp
and cool – so it may be worth bringing appropriate wet weather clothes! Also, prepare for warm
sunny weather by bring sun cream and plenty of water.
Run
The run route can be found on the back pages of this document. It will be signed and marshalled.
Facilities
There are changing rooms/showers in the Leisure Centre.
Have a good week and see you on the 14th September.
