Access Success College Scholarship Program
Counselor Information and Instructions
Please make the following Scholarship Application packets available to all students who choose to apply.
Remind students that:
 Scholarships are for U.S. colleges only (trades schools not eligible)
 Letter of recommendation must be completed by a current high school teacher, counselor, or
administrator, not by an aide or an elementary or middle school teacher
Students submit completed application packets to you. You will deliver them to Kandy Woerz, College
Initiative Program Manager, Stanislaus County Office of Education.

Applications sent to sites
Complete Application Due in Counselor's Office -- including transcripts, Student Aid
Reports
(SAR), Recommendation, Commitment and Release Authorization forms.
Applications due to Kandy Woerz' Office, Stanislaus County Office of Education by 4:30 pm.
Selection of scholarship recipients by ASG Panel
Notification of award of Access Success College Scholarship (ASG Scholarship)
Meetings at school sites with student ASG Scholarship Award recipients
Scholarships presented at Senior Awards Night at your school
Information about the Scholarship
The Stanislaus County Office of Education Access Success College Scholarship Program provides
scholarship support to assist college-bound seniors as they begin their post-secondary journey
through college.
Eligibility Requirements (must meet each of these requirements)
 Must be Class of 2014 graduating senior
 Must have passed the CAHSEE
 Must demonstrate need for financial assistance (Submitted FAFSA or Dream Act application).
 Must enroll as a full-time student at a community college, 4-year public or private college or university in
first quarter or semester of 2014-15 academic year (no trade or vocational schools/colleges; no colleges
outside the United States)





Selection Criteria (must meet at least one of the following)
First generation in immediate family to attend college
Financial need
Academic performance demonstrating college readiness (GPA, class rank, A-G course completion)
Completion of a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum
Demonstrated leadership and/or community service
Scholarship
Scholarships awarded to seniors will be customized based on financial need and cost of attendance.
Amounts will range from $750 to $5,000. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as full time students
beginning in Fall 2014. Students receive half the funds in first semester and half second semester based on
successful completion of first semester coursework and proof of full-time enrollment for second semester.
